New Site Features

Hey everyone, as you all know we moved the site from our old location to our current one.  Wordpress offers us a lot more unique features than blogger did, and that was our main reason for moving.  We knew that the old site was not updated enough, and that was partially because Pekese did not have the power to edit the site, so I had to do everything, and it was all written in code, which is not the case anymore.  We hope that this new layout is better for everyone.  Some of the new features are:

  • Embedded Chatroom.  The old site had a chatroom, but it was not embedded and it was sometimes a pain to load.  The new chatroom is easily accessible from the main screen and you never leave the site.  We also have the ability to moderate chats.
  • Pages.  The new site has different pages, instead of one like the previous version.  This allows for less clutter and more organization.
  • More updates.  We are now able to update the pages easier, such as statistics, schedule/scores, transactions and standings easier, so no more lack of updates.  We also have two people who can update instead of one.
  • Better mobile.  The new site is much easier to read via cellphones than our old one.
  • Tags and categories.  Our posts are now better organized in categories and tags, so if you are looking for something specific, it will be easier to locate.
  • Comments.  The comments now require a name and email, so no more annoying anonymous comments.
  • Search.  We have a search box just for the site, so if you are looking for something or a keyword, you can find it.

Again, I hope these features are beneficial to you.  If you have any comments, complaints, or suggestions for the site, please send us an email, we want all the feedback that we can.  I’d also like to note that the site looks different depending on your computer (PC vs Mac) and browser, so if anything looks weird try a different browser or computer.

Mook, best option is StubHub if you’re willing to shell out some major cash. Otherwise, you’ll have to check bostonbruins.com for more information.

Yeah, tickets for the winter classic go on sale to season ticket holders first. I’m not sure if or when the general public, who are not season ticket holders, have an opportunity to purchase tickets.

I reviewed the prices for the last two winter classics and tickets were around $300 a seat. I’m not sure how much these seats will go for, but I would expect it to be in that price range if not more since it is a smaller venue.

BOSTON GLOBE: Fluto Shinzawa reports there is no rush for the Bruins to re-sign Phil Kessel prior to the start of the season as he’s sidelined until December following off-season shoulder surgery.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: If he’s on the shelf to start the season the Bruins don’t have to rush to re-sign him, but he does however have to be re-signed by December 1st or he’ll be ineligible to play this season.
