Ageless winger Mark Recchi re-upped with the Bruins this season with a 1 year, 1 million dollar deal. Last year, Recchi scored 10 goals in just 18 games with the Bruins down the stretch and played well during the playoffs despite a kidney stone injury.
Recchi was used as a left handed set up man on the PP as well as taking the front of the net. Recchi has some of the best hands on the team and can redirect almost any shot. While Marco Sturm may take his spot on one of the PP units, expect Recchi to get a decent amount of PP time.
With Sturm back in the fold this season, Recchi’s minutes may diminish, and he may not put up the 60+ points like he did last season with the Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning.
Recchi can play on all top 3 lines and will likely play either left wing or right depending on injury. He may be on a line with Bergeron and Kobasew if Sturm plays on the top line while Kessel is out.
Projected Stats: 21 g, 31 a, 52 pts.
