I hear it is 2 1st round picks & a 2nd round pick for Kessel plus the B’s 3rd round pick.

I heard this rumor all this week. Very good for the Bruins for the future. 2 1st round picks this year and next in exchange for a not-so-proto-typical Bruin who does not know what it means to be a Bruin and who could care even less. Lotsa luck in TO Phil. Let’s see how you try the toe drag on Chara. Big Z will knock you to tomorrow.

TSN is now reporting that the trade is conditional to contract agreement with Kessel.

  3. Bruins says:

not a fan of sending back the third but: bravo chia (if this is the deal). i do have some questions about kessels game. grabovski is going to be his center now…could be rough. just a thought: how much is he going to ask the leafs for? if he wont sign with an amazing team like boston for about 4 mil, what will he demand from a horrible team like toronto?

  4. Jefe77 says:

He could get up to 6 million from Toronto. I believe it will be more like 5 to 5.5.

See ya Phil, hello 2 top 15 first round draft picks.

Also not a fan of sending back a 3rd….Kessel alone would certainly be enough in my opinion, and another player from Toronto would make me happy with this trade. I agree that Phil doesn’t understand the tradition of the B’s, and he’s too much of a one way player who looks like he tries to avoid playing Julien’s “style.” However, I would have liked to see him go out west, he could still be a threat against us this season…we all know how many times we have to face the Leafs every season.

  6. BruinsFan says:

    we gonna miss him !

  7. Jeff says:

Very dissapointed the B’s didnt trade with Nashville. Rumor has it that Phil wouldnt sign with the Preds so BOston had to trade him to the Leafs. Supposedly the B’s couldve gotten Jon Blum, a 1st round pick, and the rights to Alexander Radulov. Blum is going to be a #2 defensemen and power play QB. Not crazy about Radulovs rights since we already have Soderbergs.

This sets the team up for the nicely future but doesnt get them any defensive help for this year.
Phil will struggle without a magician like Savard to feed him. Toronto will regret this trade as much as they regret Rask for Raycroft.

  8. BruinsFan says:

DEAL IS DONE 2 first round and a second one….

Kessel got 27 million for5 years.

  9. Bruins46 says:

3 picks is ok but I really would have liked to at least get a player out of this one…

  10. Jefe77 says:

We got Sturm and Patrice back,…thats all we need.

  11. psands says:

anybody think pc trys to trade any of these picks and a player to try to gt back something? or do you think this is the team we go into the season with.

i would have loved to get a young d-man in return for kessel. i still think we are to small on the blue line.
