Stuart out 4-6 weeks

According to the Boston Globe, Mark Stuart will be out 4-6 weeks because of a broken sternum.  Stuart suffered the injury on Monday against the Philadelphia Flyers. With the lose of Stuart, Matt Hunwick will now be inserted into the lineup.  Additionally, Dennis Wideman, who was injured in the third period of Monday’s loss,  did not make the trip.  That means either Andy Wozniewski or Adam McQuiad will make their season debut for the Bruins.

    gut-check time!

may i be so bold as to predict a 5-game streak starting on friday?

    oh yes.

  2. Bruins46 says:

Fucking great now caveman goes down.

  3. Bruins says:

i know you cant complain about injuries but FUCK! this year has been awful for them

  4. ELWOPPO says:

HOLY Fuck the Leafs and Sabres finally lost a game! Can you beleive it? Anyhow anyone know when Looch should be back! Its been 3 weeks now!

  5. psands says:

big blow, stuart got this injury in the 2nd period, and still gutted his way through the third. the guy is tough as nails, and need’s to be locked up by pc NOW!!!

even though the injury sucks, can’t wait to see mcquaid.

  6. Vince_M says:

The injury bug sure has hit the Bruins hard this year! I would really love to see the team all together and healthy for more than 3 games this year. I am actually starting to think that Horton might be a good fit and would work out well for us. Any other thoughts on this? Any way to petition PC to look at him?

  7. 8mook8 says:

as long as they’re healthy for the playoffs…may take some teams by surprise since the whole league has written us off already.

thomas was a fluke, savard is overrated, krejci sucks…etc etc etc.

    suck it!

    • Gcole says:

i like your point. maybe the bruins will be late bloomers, and teams like buffalo will start to cool off (much like bruins did last year)

  8. Birdman2403 says:

Interesting thoughts on ESPN.COM….talking trade for Kovalchuk. Wheeler, Rask and a 1st ?? I don’t like giving up Rask. Or Wheeler, Sturm and a 1st…..DO IT !

  9. goosegoose35 says:

if they trade Rask they are out of their tits. Trade Thomas if they are to trade a goalie. I would not be a B’s fan if they get rid of Rask he will be their stud in net for a long time barring any injury

  10. 8mook8 says:

    well…
if they trades rask, wheeler and a 1st, it would really be:

    -raycroft
    -one-third of phil kessel
    -cash

  11. goosegoose35 says:

now way Rask > Raycroft. Toronto wanted a goalie now and then he shit the bed. Rask is the real deal he always has been. He should be considered untouchable unless we are going to get Ovechkin, Semin, Malkin, and flury in some sort of a 3 team deal.

  12. Gcole says:

wheeler, ryder, pick for eric staal in carolina? then claim aaron ward off of waivers.

  13. backbruin says:

Are you crazy goose goose i would make that deal in a second IF we could sign Kovalchuk for 3 yrs. And no i don’t think it’s going to happen, but if i had a choice it’s a no brainer. Timmy could give us another good two-three years, i love wheeler but kovalchuk???bahahah cmon! We have a tonne of draft picks the next two years where we could go after a good goalie in the first round whom could be ready by the time were done with timmy!!my god book it!

  14. Birdman2403 says:

I say no way to Rask ! Goalies, especially young ones, that are at Rask’s level are hard to come by ! Look at how long Fleury took to finally be where he is at. Look at Price, supposed to be God’s gift to goaltending and he is so-so.

I’m all for Kovalchuk, but not Rask being involved. A top scorer is easier to find then a #1 goalie for years to come !

  15. psands says:

you all need to go to capgeek.com, look at our cap situation for next year, and tell me how in the hell we are going to be able to fit in kovalchuk with the money he will be making, without only having one great line, a decent line and to fourth lines.

i would love kovalchuk, but we need to go cheaper.

  16. BACKBRUIN says:

Do we not remember a guy called Andrew Raycroft when he won the rookie of the year what 7 years ago? Remeber how high we were on him and that was after a season. Rask has played what 12 games in the NHL and some of you act like he’s the next Christ. What is Rask and Wheelers salary combined 5.5 million?even if kovalchuk wants 8-9 million were only a couple million away from getting this guy. We have some boychuks and others that can fill minutes at a much cheaper price…Never say it’s impossible, improbable but not impossible

    • Bruins says:

raycroft won the calder when hockey was an entirely different game. toivonen would be a better comparison, although im sure all of us are higher on rask than we ever were for toivonen (although he did look like the real deal in his rookie year before the injury). we cant let rask go. he’s signed on for 2 years after this and at 1-1.5 (cant remember exactly). those are the kinds of trades that can really screw you over in the long run

  17. Bruins46 says:

I saw Stevie-Y outside the Garden the other night…mnust have been at the game scouting for Canada…kinda cool

    • Bruins says:

anyone of bergie, savard, and lucic (once he gets back) have a real shot at it, with the edge going to bergeron

      • Bruins says:

oh wait nevermind savard has no shot because of course players like derek roy and andy mcdonald deserved to be at camp more than him…

  18. ed says:

Anyone have a username and password for ESPN insider i would like to read to two stores that are in there….. any body have the stories

  19. habs4ever says:

k its official the Habs stink! 5 straight loses WTF? Now 7 games on the road! OUCH! BTW the Bruins are slipping of l8t! Whats up with you guys? Hey give us Rask and we will give you Cammalleri! What do you guys think?

  20. Jefe77 says:

    ahh…no.

  21. jdog71 says:

I’m not feeling very confident going into this weekend, considering how the last two games have played out. Julien needs to show us why he was the Adams winner and really step up with some creative thinking to get these guys playing into his system again. Also, Rask needs to start tonight. Thomas isn’t cutting it at the moment. I have no doubt that he’ll turn it around, but why ride the guy into the ground when we have a more than capable backup?

    • Bruins says:

thomas should go in tonight. he hasnt hitten his stride because he needs to get more starts in. rask needs to embarass the leafs again tomorrow night

  22. Hawks2Soar says:

What’s this I see? No confidence by the Bruins fans. All I can say is rightly so – the Hawks will absolutely devour your beloved Bruins tonight – 7-2 easily and that score really flatters the Bruins. The Bruins fans are sooooo right – there will be no blackhawk down tonight – the 2010 Stanley Cup Champs – the Hawks will see to that. No chance for the Bruins – what a delight it will be to watch this massacre!!

    • Bruins says:

something tells me that you were never a blackhawks fan until they started to win last year. and yeah, lets see the hawks score 7 goals on the best goaltending tandem in the league

      • Hawks2Soar says:

Believe it!!! Toews 3, Sharp 3, Versteeg 1. Thomas will be shown to be the goalie he really is – nothing but a has-been – one trick pony.

    • jdog71 says:

Looking forward to you eating your words, shitstick.

  23. Bruins says:

anyone see the bruins legends at fenway? im way too young to have watched most of them play, but being a bruins fan i know alot about the history. seeing a guy like milt schmidt there at 91 makes you proud to be a bruins fan.

  24. da wreck says:

There is an awesome picture of Looch and Bourque chatting on the ice at nhl.com

that stuff right there makes me proud to be a Bruins fan.

Gotta love how everyone comes outta the woods when they play the Bruins, then end up quiet at the end of the night.

  25. psands says:

    Andy Fucking Wozniewski over Mcquaid????

    really claude???

i think i am going to be sick tonight. this is such bull shit.

im so fucking pissed, and btw, i guarantee you that hawks2soar is the same person as kessels bro and habs nation……..aka pekese or matt

  26. BACKBRUIN says:

HEY HAWKS FANS, LUCKY WE HAVE FERENCE ON OUR SIDE. GREAT PASS FERENCE!!!CAN WE PLEASE GET RID OF HIM NOW. I’VE BEEN SAYING THAT FOR TWO MONTHS….AND YES I LOVE CAPS

  27. Birdman2403 says:

    A few random thoughts……

    1) Thomas was 100 % better tonight then he has been lately !
    2) Dennis Who ? I’ll take Boychuk in a second. Much more reliable and his shots actually hits the net.
    3) Savard needs to shoot the puck ! Teams expect him to pass and give him room.

Can’t wait for Kesselmania 3. I wonder if he will still be scared at home ?
