Boner Jams ’05-’06

Just gonna keep on pimping this move.  If that doesn’t make you drool for this duo, I don’t know what will.

it does sound wonderful hearing savvy and kovvy’s name in the same sentence…if it doesnt include toronto’s first im all for it

  2. Future says:

Ya hearing savvy and kovy’s name in the same sentence sounds sweet but keep in mind the most recent i’ve heard…kovy will be be heading back to russia next year, and atl wants Krejci, Tuukka and toronto’s 1st round pick for kovy. in other words, we basically borrow kovy for a couple months while they lock in 2 of our better, younger players and take what is right now the 3rd overall draft pick from us. bad deal. forget kovy.

  3. JRy says:

alot of those goals where empty netters set up by savard. I don’t wanna give up Rask, the Toronto 1st or Colbourne other than that if a deal can get done I’m all for it but it seams unlikely.

  4. Gcole says:

i have one good question though. say we get kovy… does lucic give up #17??? hmm

  5. Matt says:

    71 baby!

  6. Bruins says:

what would it take to get ray whitney?

  7. mook says:

WEEI.COM: Graig Woodburn reports a league source claims the Bruins pursuit of Ilya Kovalchuk hit a snag when the Atlanta Thrashers demanded the Bruins add the Toronto Maple Leafs first round pick in the 2010 draft which Boston GM Peter Chiarelli is unwilling to part with. Other potential trade targets for the Bruins could include St. Louis’ Paul Kariya, Columbus’ Raffi Torres, Edmonton’s Lubomir Visnovsky, Carolina’s Ray Whitney and Toronto’s Alexei Ponikarovsky.

  8. willisss says:

iv been thinking paul kariya in my own mind for a while now. i think it would be a great pick up. id throw wideman or ryder plus a prospect at the blues for kariya any day. haha its funny, i signed kariya to a one year deal to my nhl10 team back in november, ever since then i thought ” what if…” that would be cool to see happen.

can you just imagine the things line 1 of team russia will do? ovy malken and kovy…its unfair.

march cant come soon enough. i love the fact that pc wants to hold on to that pick. this draft class is looking rock solid

    • pearson says:

idk man, 6 mil is alot of money for 10 goals/ 24 overall points. hes got solid linemates already… id give them ryder and thats about it.

  9. grant says:

See ya ilya, no way we give up that pick to rent the guy. I’m all for ray whitney. Let’s get it done PC

  10. mook says:

SPECTOR’S NOTE: The Bruins could be interested but if the Maple Leafs first round pick in 2010, which they acquired in the Phil Kessel trade, is part of the asking price, then forget about it. I also believe the Bruins should look for a more affordable option rather than make what would essentially be a panic move by pursuing Kovalchuk.

Mook says: PANIC moves don’t pay-off. You can’t buy a Stanley Cup…just ask the Rangers. I bet you guys are pocket hockey fans, and are pure baseball fans…

After the start Ottawa had, did anyone see them winning 8 straight games? Did they go out and trade Spezza and Alfie? You fucken jackasses…”I’m a realist” really means “I’m a Yankees fan”. Things can turn around, and i believe they will. It’s essentially the same team as last year, we should be playing better but at the same time…no Savard, Krejci, Lucic, Bergeron, Strum, etc etc etc is going to take a toll.

    • Matt says:

I wouldn’t call getting Kovalchuk a panic move. A panic move would be acquiring an old aging vet for an insane price. Look, this guy is a top 5 player in the league in his prime. Reality is we are not selling the farm for a rental and everyone knows that, but at the same time, most people are willing to shell out a Blake Wheeler plus for just the chance to re-sign him, which would not be that unrealistic.

    • WARDOFTHERINGS says:

don’t ever call me a baseball fan you son of a bitch.

  11. Haus says:

what happened to jefe? We need some sanity restored to these boards. Thanks for reposting spector, that should help everyone get a grip with the ryder involved in any deal bullshit.

  12. Matt says:

Plus we are all overestimating what it will cost to land him. Remember Hossa? Forsberg? Thornton? Boyle? Luongo? Most times big names are traded, unless its one for one ala Heatley for Hossa, the return is much less than people think.

  13. Matt says:

Scottie Upshall, Colby Armstrong, Brad Stuart, Todd Bertuzzi were all the center pieces to these deals. I say Blake Wheeler > than all of them.

  14. Haus says:

maybn wheeler, caron, our first, toronto first 2011

  15. Haus says:

That is assuming ATL doesnt feel burnt by the Hossa deal and unwilling to make the mistake again. Also, Bruins are more desperate than Pittsburgh was.

  16. mook says:

how many games have the flames lost in a row now? 11?

  17. Matt says:

    Not as bed as Edmonton

  18. willisss says:

im pissed tuukka got the nod tonight. dont get me wrong, i would rather him in the net any night but that means ill be at the garden tomorrow watching timmy. maybe he will go back to back.

  19. da wreck says:

Speaking of Edmonton, their local sports radio guys were talking about the Oilers looking at Blake Wheeler. They got pretty excited about him actually.

  20. Froggy says:

Tonight is the night we’ll see if the B’s are still all talk and no action. I’ve waited 51 games for them to morph into last year’s team. They’ve close to a week off now and have talked a great game. Tonight they get their opportunity to put that talk to action and at least play a high-spirited game. I can take a loss if they at least play. I don’t know if I can put up with yet another listless performance. They best unf#$#k themselves tonight.

  21. Bruins says:

ugh,we actually played sick in that first period yet are still down 2-0. too many penalties, missed opportunities, and unlucky bounces

    • Birdman2403 says:

By sick you mean bad right ?? Otherwise I’m watching the wrong feed. 2 perfect chances to score and they miss the net, doesn’t mean they are playing good !

  22. Birdman2403 says:

Well looks like the B’s took advantage of the days off….they actually got WORSE !! What a gutless no effort….fuck it, broken record !

Nice effort by Chara on goal 2….out muscled by Vanek !

Everyone except, Bergeron and Rask and Tor. 1st pick, is in play to trade in my books. But lets wait a few more weeks PC !! WAKE THE FUCK UP !

  23. WARDOFTHERINGS says:

rask sucks more than Thomas right now.

  24. G cole says:

Well they picked up right where they left off against Carolina… This is a pathetic team, funny thing is though I still watch all these shit games.

  25. Froggy says:

Still unf@#$%ked!! What the hell does it take for this team to wake up? Again its all talk and no action. They goon it up after the whistle? WTF. They should be that mean when they play, not after the whistle. For a team that is supposed to be desparate and pissed they sure look very non-chalent and pussy-like. Ho-hum – I guess it 6 losses in row and counting.

  26. G cole says:

So why aren’t we giving up toronots pick for an elite goal scorer and dumping overpaid retards like Ryder and wideman? Makes perfect sense to me..

  27. Richardo says:

    LOOOOOOOOCH!!

  28. G cole says:

Think we can trade Jack Edwards to Atlanta as part of a kovalchuk deal?

  29. da wreck says:

I love the all the optimism, but you guys all know that you can’t polish a turd. I’m gonna give it up to Coach Julien. At least his team’s consistent right?

  30. bruins4eva says:

alright now i am starting to blame P.C. why cuz he has not done anything to make this team better if he does not pull the trigger soon …then this team will not make the playoffs

  31. backbruin says:

like ive said and we all know…the goaltending whether it’s T.T or Tuuka is fine…we need goal scorers!!!so trade what you need to now…how many 1 goal losses does PC need to see!!

  32. bigbadbruins1 says:

    what a surprise

  33. Gcole says:

did anyone else laugh when jack edwards (no offense to him) told us to vote for the player of the week on nesn.com? lol.
