Marchand recalled

According to the providence journal Brad Marchand has been recalled from the Providence Bruins. With the recall of Marchand, it may be an indication of an injury to another forward. With Bergeron already out and the Bruins with 12 other forwards on the current roster it could also mean Bergeron’s injury is worse than expected.

  2. jmeds says:

Whats the chances this has nothing to do with Bergeron and Lucic broke his hand?

  3. ELWOPPO says:

Ference also out with groin injury….At least a week they say!!
Anymore bad news, For Fuck Sakes? Come on were used to it!!!!!!!!!

  4. willisss says:

    soooo why not zack hamill?

    • Leafstank says:

seriously. why the fuck wont they give him a shot!

      • Birdman2403 says:

Hamill can’t wait to become a free agaent and get out of here. He is overlooked every time !

      • Bruins says:

while i agree that he should get a chance up here to see if anything will jump-start the offence, he’s done absolutely nothing in providence to have earned a in boston.

  5. G cole says:

Great, another forward that can’t score to save his ass..

  6. mook says:

Forward Patrice Bergeron took part in the club’s optional morning skate on Thursday, but didn’t play against the Leafs because of his groin injury. He’s still considered day-to-day. – Boston Globe

The only thing wrong with Lucic is that he’s snakebit.

7 game road trip means an extra forward in the pressbox.

  7. Bruins says:

i honestly thought after the break we could get a break ourselves with injuries. i was very wrong. still waiting for our first game with a full lineup…maybe next season? the season after that?

  8. jcarb23 says:

really dont know wats happened but lucic has really struggled with his game this year…maybe thats wat 4 miliion a year does to you…

  9. backbruin says:

I think last night he was more involved then i’ve seen all year. Yes he lost the fight but he finally had a couple chances and was more involved. You can see that he is starting to realize he needs to get going! This is the first real heat this kid has had since he’s been here. He had glimpses of his running around hammering guys last night but just seems a little off…maybe the high ankle sprain? maybe not but at least i saw a little eency weency bit more effort last night….let’s not write him off quite yet…the next 7 games will let us know where his head is at!!

  10. jcarb23 says:

ya i agree back bruin.. he just doesnt look like rite out there at times he looks very passive.i listened to most of the game on the radio and the shootout at a bar.i hope his game does come around because he is a huge part of this team

  11. jimmy50 says:

Zach Hamill isn’t ready. Lucic makes 4 Million starting next season and is playing taped up with that high ankle sprain.

  12. Craig says:

Lucic is hurt period. High ankle sprains can take up to a year to heal. He will be fine, but probably not till next year. Maybe playoffs, I hope.

  13. mook says:

has anyone noticed jersey has done jack shit with kovalchuck?

    • mcpuck says:

I don’t think they thought it through mook. Kovi will give them more goals sure, but he doesn’t fit their system in my opinion. He’s not accountable enough defensively for their style of play.

  14. backbruin says:

Good so P.C made a great decision not selling the farm to get him…as we play a tighter checking wait for our opponents to make a mistake style!!He wouldn’t have fit our systems either..

    good on ya P.C

  15. mook says:

not saying i wouldn’t have liked to see him in the bruins jersey, but he’ll be in the khl for sure next year. you’d have to be stupid to turn that kind of money down AND play in your own country.

  16. backbruin says:

Let’s get this big win today!!solid effort hard hitting, smart passing game!! traffic in front, lot’s of shots would be nice!!!

i’d like a no brainer win, 5-1 or something!!enough o.t shootouts for my heart!!

  17. Habhater says:

Make no mistake about it!!! This afternoon starts the tale of the tape for the Bruins this year. 7 game road trip which will in all probability determine the Bruins playoff fate.

IMO the Bruins need to go 13-6-1 to make the playoffs. As such, a .500 road trip will not cut it. Taking 9 out of possible 14 points will keep us in contention. It won’t be easy – NYI, PIT, TOR, PHI, MTL, NJ and Car – but it is achievable and a must imho. Such a road trip will instil an added measure of confidence throuhout the team and set us up nicely for the playoffs.

I know it has been an erratic & inconsistent year so far. But this road trip is what we need right now. The Bruins season starts today and it must start with a win. In my books, there are no excuses today for not playing with emotion, discipline and effort. We have to beat the teams behind us no ifs, ands or buts. Today PC will find out what players have the balls and those who have to grow a pair.

    • bruinsfanupnorth says:

have to agree with you. as far as the lineup i would love to see marchand get a chance with savard. sit the devil and lets see what happens.
as a small note i loved the way seidenburg played the other night. kept the guys to the outside and took away the lanes to the net, unlike wideman who lets guys go right by him.
      prediction bruins 4 islanders two.

  18. backbruin says:

I know it’s early but they look very solid in their own end. And yes i know it’s the Islanders but this is the most calm i have felt with them handling the puck all year…bergy looks pumped!!!

time will tell let’s go boys!

    • Bruins says:

just about to say that. B’s look awesome so far. bergie back is big, he’s been making alot of key plays out there

  19. backbruin says:

And i would like to see marchand in Thornton’s spot!

I love Thornton but let’s make some suttle changes and see what happens!

  20. Bruins says:

and damn, i cant believe how comfortable i am with seidenberg out there! the guy is awesome

  21. mook says:

i agree thornton is a pylon.

hey, i missed the last few games…what’s with the visor?

    • backbruin says:

ORR broke his nose last game(toronto)…i think getting beat up may tell looch hey time to wake up big boy!!!

  22. Birdman2403 says:

Lucic,Begin and Thornton….could be very effective. It also gives Lucic a chance to play a good role and get back into things.

  23. backbruin says:

me too bruins, have you seen any crazy turn overs besides hunwicks brain fart?

and like i said looch is like a big diesel train engine trying to get going, that’s how he can shoot the puck. He needs to work on his positioning in the offensive zone. HE NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO GET TO OPEN ICE AND THEN HE WILL BE BACK WITH SAVY. the guy can shoot the fn puck AND HE HAS A SUPER QUICK RELEASE!!

  24. backbruin says:

nice grit b’s and what a pretty passing play. It’s nice to see a good goal. Timmy still needs to squeeze those pads but he made up for it with 3 big saves right after!

    keep working boys!

  25. G cole says:

    Nice one savvy!

  26. backbruin says:

wow who ever isn’t watching this game, Timmy has made 4-5 BIIIIIIIG SAVES in this game in the first half of this game!!!

    he looks really good!!!

  27. backbruin says:

You know what…if you look at the Ryder hit there is know way in gods green earth that he deserved that penalty….Comeau went into the boards and turned soooooooooooft as fk and ryder was turning towards the play and didn’t realize the guy was even hurt…

bs call and no it was nothing like the bergeron incident!

  28. G cole says:

    Dam timmys been good!

  29. Birdman2403 says:

Thomas has been awesome vs. Leafs and here today. 22 shots in the 2nd period!

Ryder’s hit was from behind. I don’t think there was any intent and it was a bang-bang play. However, all players have to start to hold up on those. Thankfully he’s ok. Obviously, nothing like Bergeron’s incident.

Or Max Lapierre that homo from the Habs !!!

  30. mcpuck says:

Good aggression and intensity, especially on the PK. I like the way they’re playing.

  31. backbruin says:

6 of 7 boys….great game T.T…..if we can get at least one point out of tomorrow we still have games in hand on some teams that are near or with us in the standings…good job boys!!

  32. Bruins says:

that ryder hit was pretty similar to the one on bergeron. scary stuff. ryder is so useless.

great win though! timmy is playing like he is trying to prove something. we had some mistakes, but overall i thought we played well. bergeron the unsung hero once again with the countless battles that he wins along the boards.

    • mcpuck says:

I disagree on the similarities between Ryder and Jone’s hits. Jones put his hands on Bergeron’s back about 3 feet from the boards, Ryder was tight on Comeau and it just happened that he turned into the hit at the last second. That’s exactly what you’re not supposed to do when you’re skating into a corner. I think the penalty was deserved, but there won’t be any suspension, I didn’t see any malice in that hit.

      • Bruins says:

yeah there were little differences, but i was just going by the similarity of a player going into the corner to get the puck and turning a bit before taking the hit.

  33. mcpuck says:

Gotta love Thomas proving the critics wrong yet again. Honestly, I don’t think he cares, he just hates seeing that little black thing behind him. I bet if you threw a Hostess ding-dong at him he swats it.

  34. backbruin says:

About time we get some positivity with some wins on here…keep it up and let’s steal one tomorrow boys…wooooooooooooooooo

  35. ELWOPPO says:

If we beat the Pen’s tomorrow……..WE MAKE THE PLAYOFFS! Thats my perdiction!
Thomas is gonna have the game of his life tomorrow….Thats all im gonna say! GOOD LUCK TIMMY and may the Lord be with you tomorrow!

  36. #4 says:

Thomas has been like last year these last 2 games. His 5-hole is a little weak but at least he mostly stays in the net. I think he needed to be benched he must’ve realized he was doing something wrong and worked on it, id like to see Timmy #1 again. With Rask as the option its a scary goaltending tandem.

  37. Whopperfoo says:

Wow it’s a good thing that everyone ripped on lucic for that fight….the one in which he broke his nose.

  38. willisss says:

with the exception of a few, may i say welcome back everyone

  39. pearson says:

man-o-man ryder is the biggest goon in the nhl. what a head hunter. every game he is out there looking for blood.

ryder getting a game isconduct for a check is like jesus getting arrested for rape; doesnt happen often.

tough game tomorow.. i dont care if they win or not, i just hope crosby gets his legs broken.

    • G cole says:

I’m so tired of hearing his dam name everywhere. When he scored the goal in ot to win gold I fucking threw my remote and walked out of the room…

    • willisss says:

hahaha thats good stuff dude. ryder as we all know is the george laraque of the bruins.

  40. mook says:

    back to normal.

    bruins 4
    pens 3

  41. willisss says:

hunwick is getting the game winner

  42. Birdman2403 says:

The B’s P.P. is sooooooooooooo BAD ! They can’t even get the zone. 3 P.P. and nothing to show for it….could be trouble, because you know the Pens will get even up chances !

  43. backbruin says:

such a shit goal…makes me sick!

  44. backbruin says:

Well we need to get at least a point out of this and maybe steal one here!!

I think we match up well against pitt and wouldn’t mind getting them first round!

i was looking forward to seeing them in the conference final last year but was obviously disappointed!

  45. backbruin says:

Well that was as soft as they come…he wasn’t square to the shooter there…were in trouble now!

    there goes the season

    please be alright savard

  48. goosegoose says:

    fuck…why so many injuries?

  49. Bruins says:

fucking scumbag. just hope savvy is ok

  50. goosegoose says:

no Penalty? i hope thornton or looch or chara or stuart fucks that guy up.

  51. backbruin says:

why so many injuries???? you have a fkn moron like cooke targeting savards head!!!that’s why!!

These refs are disgusting…you have ryder getting 5 and a game for his hit which was questionable and cooke gets nothing for that!!!!!!!!fk off

you watch he’ll get suspended for minimum 3 games…so garbage man

season done…well at least we didn’t spend the money or picks for a player to play with savard as i’d be shocked if he’s back!!

  52. G cole says:

Wow that was a dirty ass elbow to savard… Let’s hope he’s not out long

  53. BostonVin says:

NO DAMN RESPONSE TO THAT HIT!!!! No does a damn thing to back Savard up. It does not matter if it was clean or not (and it was not). Your best player gets K.Oed you respond by kicking someones ass. I know it is an important game, but seriously!! DO SOMETHING

    • Bruins says:

you can’t do that in a one goal game. next time we play pit cooke will get killed. literally.

      • Birdman2403 says:

You do it right then and there ! It brings your team together and use it as a turning point ! Instead they watch that….and coast to the loss !

  54. Habhater says:

5 min major for Ryder yesterday. Zip for Cooke??

  55. Bruins says:

honestly fuck these refs. these stupid biased fucks. savard’s season just ends and bot only do they give cooke nothing, but they have a chance at a make-up call for fedotenko running thomas and do nothing

  56. Haus says:

They should have been telling that cunt crosby that he should be taking his national treasure ass to the locker room immediately after that happened. His first shift after the cheap shot he should have lost all his teeth. You tell him if he plays hes gonna be knocked out for the season. An eye for an eye.

  57. Baltimore Bruins Fan says:

1st, I ope Savy is OK, PC wtf, I listened to you say at the press confrence after the deadline that #44 would allow the forwards to score more…huh, poor Timmy T only allows 2 goals, this is BS, was to let Kessel gpo and way to bring in a winger

  58. Richardo says:

  59. Birdman2403 says:

Bruins are just bad….we need to understand that.

    1. Ryder and Wideman get the most ice. Both look like they play wiht broken sticks and legs. Ryder is SO FUCKING SLOW ! He is useless !

    2. P.P. is the worst in the league 4 P.P. 2 fucking shots.

    3. Savard gets run and not 1 fucking guy does anything !

It is going to be a frustrating finish watching them play out the last 19 games. NO LIFE NO DESPERATION = NO PLAYOFFS !

  60. ELWOPPO says:

    That all folks!
It was fun while it lasted!

  61. Boston2213 says:

who says you cant respond to that even if its a 1 goal game ??? that’s what good chemistry teams do, do you remember last year at all ? They guy cheap shotted your best offensive player, if that happened to malkin or crosby, ovechkin or semin, what the hell do you think would happen to that guy ?

  62. Birdman2403 says:

And oh yeah…..Seidenberg sucks. Morris at least got a shot on net once in a while……This guy has done fuck all !

  63. willisss says:

im on my way to pitts….cooke is going to die.

its awesome seeing the transition of comments between yesterday and today.

    its far from over.

  64. Richardo says:

If this is a concussion… That’ll be 3 major injuries to Savard this year… I can see why the B’s didnt go all out on sticking up for Savvy… 1 goal game and I think everyone was expecting a minor penalty if not a Major… Unbelieveable… If this is a concussion then he should just pack it in and not rush back to maybe make the playoffs… Get back soon Savvy!!!

  65. Haus says:

I usually agree with you bruins but not this time. After that hit, the season was over. Fuck a 1 goal game, my focus would have been ending theirs by cheap shotting crosby, and if bergeron had a set he should have told him so when they were chatting it up.

    • Bruins says:

yeah on second thought it does kind of make sense. but how many of them do you think actually saw the hit?

      • Richardo says:

Lucic and Ryder def saw the cheap shot and reacted to it…

      • BostonVin says:

You call that a response by Lucic and Ryder…sorry but that was not the way they should have responded. They skated over for a little chat. They should of had their gloves off and beaten the piss out of Cooke.

    • backbruin says:

i think bergy was saying that haus!!!he looked pissed off and was shaking his head…i know it wasn’t a team canada reuinion in that conversation!!!looch was on the ice, if i was him i would have grabbed my stick and put it over cookes head!!!!fk me that was awful!!

  66. backbruin says:

Well if there is no suspension on that hit then there is something seriously wrong with this league!!He made no attempt to hit his body and it was a complete elbow on head!!!Matt cooke deserves to be strangled after that bs!

Did any of you see the ref smiling as he was talking with cooke when savy was on the ice!!??

I feel disgusted right now, it’s a weird feeling. I feel like we were completely robbed and not on the final score but that there was no penalty called. no response from the bruins and the coach seemed to say nothing!

Now i know they were more worried about savy which they should be but i would have when balistic if that happened to one of my teamates!

  67. Haus says:

they did react, but the bruins as a team should have been chasing crosby around the rink trying to commit bloody murder. Some moments in a season are larger than one game, as unfortunately we will probably now see.

  68. Peter says:

This fucking team got no desire, no hits, no intensity, no drive, no power play, no goals which equals no fucking good. Season is officially over, by the end of this road trip they will just be playing out the season. Too many soft players on this team.

    Go Fuck yourself Chiarelli

  69. backbruin says:

React???? there wasn’t even gloves on the ice??i guess we have different opinions on what a reaction is!!!

Your best player just got knocked out for the year by their dirtbag so called “under the skin” type player and i saw nothing that i would call a proper reaction???!!

fk Crosby go get the guy that just hurt your chances for the playoffs and make him pay…

  70. BostonVin says:

March 18th the Pens are back in the Garden. The Bruins had better respond that day.

  71. ELWOPPO says:

Guys….stop saying kill that guy, get that guy…Come on? Its a frusterating ending to a frusterated season1! Thats it! This team has got killed by MAJOR injuries and bad luck! If they make the post season so be it..If not than thats fine too! Thats all to it,

  72. #4 says:

Do i agree with cheapshotting crosby back? Absolutely not. Dont be stupid this league gives boston no respect if they did that wed get 8 penalties a game and 3 goals called back forever.

Why lucic didnt rip his gloves off and just start punching the closest player is beyond me. The league needs to seriously do something to show that it doesnt favor teams like Wash, Pitt above others by suspending cooke for a long time. If not fuck it lucic can sit out the season for an attempt to injur next time we see pitt, but only on cooke.

  73. Peter says:

They won’t retaliate in Boston, this team does not care about each other. todays reaction proves it. The lack of intensity night in and night out tells me things are not good with individuals on this team. Luc and Thornton don’t even respond anymore. To many guys floating and no one willing to pay the price in the hard parts of the ice which is a direct result of their poor offence. They are looking to next year already. Stop the false hope this season is over.

    • #4 says:

I wouldnt say this is going to help PC’s chances either… IF savard is gone for 2+ months then kiss the season goodbye. Time to re-rebuild for the 800th time. Maybe call up sobotka and hamill and colbourne etc..

  74. Bruins says:

well, cooke is a renowned cheapshot artist (particularly head shots), and the hit occured on a bruins star player so i think we can be expecting a…..0 game suspension? that sounds about right. what a fucking joke the nhl is…

  75. Haus says:

i dont think cooke saw the ice again. Let their cunt boy captain pay for it and if thats not the way they want it to go down, then like i said he should finish the game in the locker room.

  76. #4 says:

Oh shit only 2 games on this beast of a leg check….

Can we expect anything more for savard.. IMagine if Crosby got hit like that by lucic or something. Looch would find himself in jail give me a fucking break. Rules apply to everyone not just the super-stars or tihs shit happens.

  77. ELWOPPO says:

    As per Boston globe:

Marc Savard has been diagnosed with a concussion as a result of an elbow by Matt Cooke at 14:23 of the third period. According to Claude Julien, Savard was knocked unconscious momentarily. Savard will remain in Pittsburgh overnight while his teammates travel to Toronto.

Julien said he expects Savard to be out “for a while.” Julien termed it a classic blind-side hit

  78. Bruins says:

well, with the savard hit it looks like we will be going through an entire season without once icing a fully healthy line-up.

  79. Bruins46 says:

Colin Campbell is a cock sucker I’m sure Cooke will get nothing.

  80. Gcole says:

sign Marty Mcsorely to a one game contract against the pens on the 18th and let him swing a stick at his fucking head like he did to brashear, maybe itll knock some sense into that assholes head, why go after SAVARD? go after THORNTON, LUCIC, CHARA, someone whos not a skill player! bunch of crap
