Imagine a cup this year boys imagine that. The B’s look good. They can def beat buf. in this series and with a newfound grit I can see them beating either NJ/WASH in rd 2 going to be one hell of a ride friends!

  4. Dan says:

Not sure if this was posted but thank god for KARMA!!!!

  5. mook says:

bruins will take this series in 6. fuck it.

    • Bruins says:

I agree. Bruins in 6. And I’m actually pretty sonfident if we play against the Caps too. Down our top 4 d-men, top 2 centers, top winger and top goalie against a fully-stocked Caps team ad still winning? Damn.

  6. Bruins says:

We didn’t get Kovalchuk! We should have tanked!

lol seriously, this is the best matchup. I was praying we didn’t get Jersey as that had the potential to be a nightmare, but we have played awesome against the Sabres.

Tuukka Rask in 5 and a half games against the Sabres?

    4-1-0, 1.42 GAA, .954 save %

  7. vince_m says:

Cooke, payback is a bitch. Too bad a Bruin didn’t dish it out. Hopefully Looch will see this and remember that he has to do it as well.

    Bring on the Sabers!!

  8. Bruins says:

The most biased piece of shit article I’ve ever read:

Chara has been a top 5 d-man this year (+19 when his duty is to shutdown the top players in the game? are you fuckin kidding me?), yet apparently he’s slumped all season long.

Rask gets no more credit than being an unproven rookie, while there is “no better netminder on the planet right now then Ryan Miller” with him playing at this level for all of one season. Oh yeah, and “proven d-man” Myers has the following said about him: “huge contributions this season for towering rookie Tyler Myers”.

And apparently the Bruins best attribute this season was their 10-9 shootout record?

They say the Sabres PK is among the best in the league and the Bruins is “helpful”.

The Sabres defence is “unheralded” where as the Bruins defence’s only mention is Chara and Wideman slumping.

I could go on and on…What a load of horseshit. How do these people get jobs writing this crap?

    • G cole says:

Bias. It’s a bunch of bullshit, why do you think fans of other teams can’t stand to listen to even a two minute clip from nesn with Jack Edwards? Sometimes I can’t even stand him! with Ryder, wheeler, wideman, lucic, and even Thomas getting back to normal, this should be a great series!!

  9. Bruins says:

More evidence that sports writers are retards and just check the odd stat and prtend they’re experts:

“BRUINS UNSUNG HERO: A team that has barely held its head above water all year doesn’t really have an unsung hero. The closest just may be Marco Sturm who leads all Bruins forwards with a plus-14. Michael Ryder has had a lousy year, but he has seven power play goals so he’s a close second.”

  10. #4 says:

Ugh wtf…. Ryder as an unsung Hero?? He nearly watched the last 5 games from the stands..

Oh and Buffalo is too “consistent” to lose….Wait whats the Reg season series 4-2 Boston???

Yeah Consistency my ass suck it hard faggot sports writers the B’s are going to the Conference finals this year and shaming Miller and Crosby along the way!

  11. Dolo says:

After a painful season, we get a top 3 pick, a trip to the playoffs, AND we got to see Cooke dropped! not a bad gig, huh?

  12. patrick says:

totally agree Dolo. this season could have been way worse than what we had to deal with already if those three things didnt happen.

  13. jimmy50 says:

First off be careful what you wish for.

That being said I think this team has the confidence to make things happen this season. I truly believe you will see more of an effort from guys like Ryder, Wideman, Sturm, and Wheeler. Lucic will wreck havoc on anyone near the puck. If regular season Tuukka is the same we can make a run for it. Only thing I am concerned about is the PP without Savard.

Any word on Stuart or Ference?

  14. Ty. says:

I just bought tickets for game 5 in Buffalo.

  20. Andy says:

FYI, on the lottery – since it was introduced in 1995, only 7 teams who had the worst record got the 1st overall pick, out of 14 teams (after the lockout in 06, they selected at random).

So, is this good or bad? I think it’s not a slamdunk that EDM gets #1, giving us a pretty good chance. At the same time, does that mean FLA or NYI could jump into the top 2?

    I can’t wait for tomorrow!!

  21. Andy says:

As for the playoffs, I think it was a pick your poison with BUF & NJ. I like the way that this team has been playing, but everyone here needs to THROW OUT the regular season record (2 wins were aganist backups, another in a shootout, which won’t be the case in the playoffs). Here’s what I think the keys will be to the series :

    1. Scoring & PP – Ryder, Sturm, & Wheels have to get going or it’s going to be a tough series for us. We HAVE to bury chances. We’ve done a great job CREATING chances lately. We have to bear down. BUF actually is #2 in PK (we’re 3rd), so it might come down to who converts on the PP. I like the Bergy-Krecji-Recchi #1 unit. Probably the biggest thing, though, we have to get shots ON NET. Finding an opening and just a little wristshot on net can help. Getting them blocked or sending them wide never helps. This has been an on-going problem all season long.

    2. Games 1 & 2 w/o Stuart & Ference – Hunny, Wideman, & Boychuk have been playing outstanding the last few games. However, this is Boychuk’s 1st playoffs, Hunwick got knocked out early last yr, and Wideman looked like a deer in headlights aganist CAR. How they play will likely determine how we do in BUF, which may determine the series

    3. HEART & PASSION – I’ve said it before and we all know it – at times this team played with NONE. However, the last 7-8 games, they’ve had much more of it, as well as determination and grit. This is a MUST. We have to hit them in the mouth and keep hitting. Do the little things it takes to win. Go to the net looking for goals. Send a message early that it’s going to be a long, tough, grind it out series.

If the B’s can do these 3 things, I like our chances.

  22. Loooch says:

Bruins Blog | Boston Globe — GM Peter Chiarelli said Andrew Ference, who’s been out because of a groin injury, has a very good chance of dressing in Game 1. Ference sat out the last nine games of the regular season.

  23. ELWOPPO says:

Chiarelli also said that Mark Stuart will likely not play in the first two games of the series and could miss the entire series with his pinkie injury. Not surprisingly, Marc Savard and Seidenberg are also not expected to be able to play against Buffalo.

The Bruins finished the year with 191 man games lost due to injury. While the quality of those lost man games may have been more serious (Savard missed 41 games, Milan Lucic missed 32, Ference missed 31, Stuart missed 26, Patrice Bergeron missed eight), the quantity is not as many as previous year’s. The Bruins’ man games lost to injury since the 2005-06 season are below:

    2009-10: 191
    2008-09: 230
    2007-08: 364
    2006-07: 162
    2005-06: 403

    • Bruins says:

It’s crazy to think that this was our worst injury season was this year when the man games lost isn’t too Quality over quantity I guess.

Getting Savvy back in the second round would be huge for the team. That being said he shouldn’t be rushed back.

  24. Loooch says:

I highly doubt we will be seeing Savvy back this year. The hit occured over a month ago and the last we heard he was just getting outside, let alone working out and getting back on the ice. I’d rather see him take the summer off and come back 100%. Dont want to see him pull a Bergy or Lindros. It is unfortunate but I think a lot of the guys are getting back into last years form…FINALLYYYY…only took them 70 games!!

  25. willisss says:

is anyone else listening to the felger/edwards interview on the hub??? awkward stuff

  26. ELWOPPO says:

    PLAYOFFS U MOTHA FUCKA’S!!!!!!!!!!!!!
