Thanks for a great season

Hey all,

I just wanted to thank everyone for following us this past season.  It was a great transition year moving from blogger to wordpress.  I know there were times when we did not post much, or things were not updated, but you stayed with us.  I’m going to try and figure some things out with the site this year, try some new things to improve.  Let me know if you have any ideas.  Things will be much more exciting with the draft and July 1st looming.

Great Season guys—can’t wait till the draft!

  2. Gcole says:

you Should start a challenge somehow where people guess final scores/goal scorers in a game and you get points for getting it right, idk about a prize just bragging rights. I think it would be entertaining

  3. goosegoose says:

Well we can now look forward to next year. My gf and my cousin and I are planning a trip to Germany and the Czech Republic. I cannot wait to see my boys in Europe!

  4. willisss says:

    cheers matt

    • ELWOPPO says:

      • willisss says:

  5. Baltimore Bruins says:

Thanks for a great blog, I check it everyday, being in Baltimore and detached from my beloved Bruins and fellow fans I enjoyed reading all of the posts. It has helped me to cope with all of the Caps and Flyers fans down here and made me feel like I had some fellow fans to chat with. Have great off season everyone!

  6. Dale says:

I’d just like to say you guys did a great job this year. Looking forward to next season already. Have a great summer all, and may the hockey gods smile upon us at the draft 🙂 🙂

  7. Trevor Targett says:

Followed you a bunch, enjoyed what I read. Hope it just keeps gettin better next year. Cheers!

  8. Jefe77 says:

Thanks Matt and Pekese. Excellent job this season with the updates.

I’ll be at the draft this year, assuring every Maple Leafs fan that their GM made an excellent franchise building decision for the Bruins.

  9. Vince Mendella says:

Great work this year guys. My hat is off you to guys for all the hard work you have done.

On another note, I went and seen the Windsor Spitfires play last night in the Memorial Cup. Taylor Hall is a true #1 pick. The guy has great vision on the ice and great hands. The Bruins will have a great player no matter which player they pick.

  10. Pete says:

This is one of the places I looked for the real info when NESN sucked and THN dropped the ball. Keep it going.

  11. bbears24 says:

Bruins and Seidenberg in contract talks…no offer yet

  12. Gcole says:

i cant stop thinking about what in the hell is going to happen with the whole tim thomas tuukka rask deal… one has to go in all reality, and economically speaking, would you rather have a promising rookie with a great season making $1.25M, or a 36 year old late bloomer making $5M? seems like an easy question to me, but actually moving him somewhere will be the challenge.

  13. Birdman2403 says:

Thomas was / is an awesome guy ! It’s the way it goes….Tuukka was great and is clearly ready for the #1 job !

Tim just wants to play and is a fierce competitor. Thomas will wave his clause and the Bruins will do him a favour and move him so he can play ! I say he goes at the draft……possibly to Edmonton in a package deal to move up to #1 to take Hall ???

    • Gcole says:

Can there legally be a deal where you can trade players between two teams and also have it in the contract that Edmonton would draft seguin? That’d be interesting, give Edmonton someone they want and in return bruins get hall

  14. Bruins says:

Listened to the exit interviews and press conferences. Some interesting notes:

    – Boychuk is a UFA not a RFA
    – 12 players were playing injured by the end(including Chara, Sobotka and Lucic)
    – Chia confirmed that the pick would be Hall or Seguin
    – He made a comment about wanting to inject youth into a competitive environment every year, which might mean he’s willing to let some UFA’s and RFA’s walk
    – It seemed that Colborne and Hamill will get looks but Colborne in particular will play out most of the year in Providence.
    – Seidenberg is in contract talks and said he didn’t like the situation he was in last year in free agency.
    – Boychuk hasn’t been in talks but says he wants to be back. Same with Thornton.

    • bbears24 says:

yeah boychuk would be restricted if he played in like 10 more games, it’s some rule for players who havent played in a certain amount of games after age 25..or something like that

      • Birdman2403 says:

Boychuk will re-sign and needs to…so will Seidenberg. Thornton I think is done. Good guy, but that is a “youth” spot to be had.
Well it better be Seguin or Hall….unless there is a 40 goal D-Man available !

  15. Bruins says:

Also Thomas says it’s too early to think about if he wants to waive his NTC.

  16. Bruins says:

Does anyone believe that we can get all three of Seidenberg, Boychuk and Stuart back? It looks like Seidenberg will get signed and I can’t imagine Boychuk not signing. Even Stuart as an RFA would seem likely. But is there room?

Maybe Wideman gets moved, but that’s one of the better d-cores in the league if he can get tehm all under contract and they stay healthy.

  17. goosegoose says:

wow the Habs cannot score a goal…how nice would it be if Philly goes up 3-0 then looses the series.

  18. NS Bruin says:

I enjoy your site overall. If possibble, it would be better if the ‘cursing’ was rejected at the source. Maybe send 600 volts back through to the keyboard. Just a thought.

    • ELWOPPO says:

I wish life was peaches and cream so I wouldnt have to curse….But Unfortunatly It isnt and Thats how i relieve stress! U got a better way “patna”
      Please do share?

get down off your crucifix dude. when your favorite hockey team drops a 3 game lead, a few naughty words will be used

  19. ELWOPPO says:

“OMFG” Take a look at this fucken kid in the Video below! I wanna beat the Fuck out of him!!

    • bbears24 says:

i have so many thoughts going through my head right now….
      1. There has to be something wrong with this guy (mentally).

      2. He is definately single.

      3. No grown man from Boston would make a 5 minute video bashing a team and laughing at his own jokes.

      4. Did I mention he’s gotta be single.

      5. I am mad at myself for watching that.

      6. That is probably a gay porn collection over his left shoulder.

      7. I am actually rooting for philly in this series, because it would just be salt on the wound if the canadiens made it to the finals, and either way the west is going to win.

      8. Lastly, found it kind of amusing this guy went through the trouble of making this video and then explains how he knows the flyers probably won’t win the finals.

    • B's on MV says:

The kids a complete douche. He’s probably the funniest person he knows. Way too many You Tube videos of himself. This is what is wrong with the youth of today. If any one sees this kid on the street, smack the shit out of him, as clearly his parents didn’t.

    • pearson says:

-he makes it seem like we are big rivals. i actually sorta like the flyers. the teams got players i wish we had. and how much would it suck if after the flyers did that to us, they just croaked and laid an egg to our archnemisis?

-go flyers, but then GO CHITOWNNNN!

-the fact that we are going to land a EXCELLENT player at the draft is really helping me cope with the choke.

-early prediction for next season: watch out for the lightning.

  20. Vince Mendella says:

I am looking at the Flyers go up 3 games to none and then lose the next 4 to the Habs. Lets see how Philly likes that one! I would love to see that. Don’t like the Habs one little bit but that would be sweet.

  21. 350 lb fan says:

Great season to all bloggers. I read the site every day but barely post. I haven’t been watching the NHL at all since the collapse, but I have been watching the Memorial Cup. I will tell you this, if we do somehow get Hall, he will be the best Bruin on the Ice already next year. He’s UNREAL. B/C of his post season performance I don’t see how Edm won’t pick him, so if Seguin is as good as him like people say, we are going to have a true talent for years to come.

I am not so optimistic about re-signing boychuk. Do we have the money to sign him and seidenberg? Boychuk is young, was a top 2 D in a playoff run, and in my opinion, out played Chara. He had too many stand out plays not to be noticed around the league. I hope we get him back

    • bbears24 says:

well considering boychuk was getting pennies last year, i can’t see him getting a huge pay raise for really 3/4 of the season…they have to get him back though, as long as we have a solid 4 D-men ill be happy i never really care for the 3rd pair and that’s why i was surprised when they announced ference’s deal.

  22. Pearson says:

What free agents do you think we should go after?

Ive always liked frolov. Demitra could be awesome as well

    • bbears24 says:

i dont know if this is true but the big dude from chicago byfuglien (???)i think is a free agent and i would like to see him in a bruins sweater wreaking havoc with lucic…and we could probably get him for a pretty good price. But i would also like to see them go after a proven goal-scorer.

      • Gcole says:

yes byfuglien all the fucking way!

      • Bruins says:

He’s not a free agent and it’s pretty unlikely to trade for him. The Hawks have to clear some space but it probably won’t be Byfuglien. If they can’t find a way to get rid of Huet and/or Campbell I fully expect Versteeg to be the odd man out.

Even if they were shopping Byfuglien, the Bruins would have to compete with every other team for him so they couldn’t steal him. They do have the most pieces though.

Although him and Looch on the same line would be sick, I’m pulling for a Lucic-Bergeron-Caron line next year. That would be the best down-low along the boards cycling line ever.

  23. JONOVISION says:

looks the we takn Sequin or Segiun with our luck he’ll be the next alexandre Daigle lmao

  24. mat allen says:

Great job on the site guys. I read it daily, can’t be arsed half the time to comment, but I do have a laugh at some of the arguments that go on.

As for Boychuk, I want him signed, I thought he was excellent in the post-season.

  25. Bruins says:

In all honesty I think I might even prefer Seguin. It’s so close either way. You have to remember that Hall is playing on arguably the best CHL team of all time. Look at the guys he plays with: Ellis, Henrique, Fowler, Nemisz, Kassian, Shugg, Cundari, Timmins, Wellwood, Mitchell. Seriously. Seguin basically has NO ONE. He’s definitely a gamebreaker and clutch scorer and playoff performer but you can’t discount the talent he plays with.

The main thing though is his skating. He’s really fast but the only thin I can describe his skating as is awkward. Seguin is just such a beautiful skater, and equally as fast. Another thing that worries me is that when I’ve seen Hall play he gets tossed around by CHL players at times. What’s going to happen in the NHL?

  26. Bruins says:

It’s FINALLY looking like Soderberg (the guy the Bruins got for Toivonen) will come over to North America next year. Don’t know how many people know him but he’s a 25 year old that’s been putting up some good numbers in Sweden the last few years.

For a talent analysis, think of him as Wheeler with hockey sense and a scoring touch. He’s big and a great skater. The only real knock on him was if he was willing to play in the NHL and it’s looking like that will disappear next year.

Him signing would make Wheeler completely obsolete in my opinion. Could look pretty good with Krech. If they draft Seguin, drop Wheeler and Paille, trade Ryder, and bring back Recchi and Thornton they could go with this:

The beauty of this is that they’d have much more room to shore up the defence (maybe get all three of Seids, Boych and Stuey back?) with the cheaper contracts of Seguin, Soderberg, Caron and Sauve, while still injecting some youth and more offensive firepower into the lineup.

  27. DBRUINS says:

Hey Bruins where did you see that Soderberg is coming over to North America?

  28. willisss says:

“This is the place I want to be,” said Boychuk. “I don’t want to go anyplace else, but I guess that’s not really up to me though. I haven’t really talked to (Bruins management) yet, but I’m sure something will spark up soon.”

    sign that guy. now.
