ill be at the rookie game the 16th, can not wait

    • Bruins says:

Seguin, Colborne, Caron, Sauve, Alexandrov, Knight, Spooner, Button, Niederreiter, Hamonic, de Haan, Kabanov, Petrov, Nelson. Should be a sick game.

  2. Bruins says:

    Finally.

  3. willisss says:

so i got nhl11….missing alottttttt of prospects. i need to wait for a roster update. anyone think they will get the rights to d1 ncaa players someday?

    • Bruins says:

It’s not that bad. First go online to play a game. It will tell you that you need to update your roster. Do that and then save it.

After that you just have to remember to go to player movement before starting Be A GM and move a Bruins pick to Providence to give him Boston as his affiliate then move him back to his junior team right after (ie. go to Prince Albert of the WHL to transfer Ryan Button to Providence, transfer him back to Prince Albert, then you’ll have his rights in Be A GM).

They have the rights of the 2010 draftees right but no one before that who hasn’t made Providence yet. So you have to go through and do these players:

Ryan Button: WHL – Prince Albert Raiders
Tyler Randell: OHL – Kitchener Rangers
Denis Reul: DEL – Mannheim Eagles

They don’t have NCAA, KHL, and other random leagues guys true, but it isn’t too tough to create the important ones. The only ones you really need to create are Colborne and Alexandrov and if you want to go more hardcore: Cross, Warsofsky, Bartkowski, Kampfer, Florek and (although he’ll probably never come here) Soderberg. I doubt any of the other prospects the Bruins have have a legit shot at making it. Only thing for these guys is that you have to sign them to contracts, although I think everyone except Warsofsky, Cross, Bartkowski and Florek is anyways, so just match the other ones to what they are on capgeek.com.

  4. pearson says:

ahh, i just remembered this morning the game was out. i had it all preordered and had 40 of it down but blew all my money on a tattoo this weekend. i have to wait till friday; i digress. hows that mode where you buy packs of cards and stuff? looked fun on the demo but it seemed limited for the demo purposes….

so amped for that schedule though too… hockey could not possibly be back sooner

  5. Andy says:

1st preseason game in 2 weeks?! WTF?! Seems like yesterday that the season ended.

Can’t wait to see what this season brings. Def excited to see the Savvy-Horton chemistry, how Seguin adapts, what rookies, if any, make it, and if Tuukka can avoid that sophomore slump (ala Steve Mason).

Let’s just start the games next week!!

  6. Mook says:

even if tuukka has the slump, we still have thomas. don’t forget he’s a great goalie too…

  7. BU's Finest says:

    Hey guys,

I’ve used the Mattg123’s EA Sports NHL roster updates for the past two years.

He and the other programmers do a great job of providing Be A GM and regular season roster updates several times each year.

The PS3 stuff is out and the XBOX 360 updates should be available soon.

    http://www.ultimatehockey.info/

    • willisss says:

im glad you posted this, will it work for the 360 this year? i know of the hardware “exchange 360” but i havnt figured out how to program the roster from my laptop to my 360. ive never done it before. howww theeee shittt doesss itttt worrrkk?

      • HockeyEast says:

Not sure – will have to check the site for the programmers comments. I’ve been using PS3.

*** To get Toronto’s #1 draft pick when playing with salary cap on – drop Sturm to free agent pool (+ another marginal player if needed to make salary space) and move Kessel back to B’s. Start your new Be A GM mode. Trade Kessel for #1 and #2 picks … sign the players dropped from free agent list. You’re good to go … at least this worked in NHL 10.

      • Bruins says:

You don’t need to do that they have all the draft picks right if you set draft pick to authentic. Bruins even have MIN’s 2nd round pick.

  8. Scott says:

Does NHL 11 have a fantasy draft feature in a dynasty mode or GM mode or something??

  9. Brendan says:

SEGUIN IS NOT IN FANTASY HOCKEY AND IM PISSED…….

  10. DanD says:

apparently there are no balcony seats available for the home opener. There is no way I’m paying 150 a ticket for loge. Glad I woke up extra early for the pre-sale

  11. Scott says:

Yea I am waiting until tomorrow

  12. moast says:

I just got my tickets today for the Bruins game in Vancouver! Super stoked! $380 for two…ouch!
    20 rows behind Rask!!!
Good thing Im sporting a Recchi jersey as I wont be chastised wearing it when Im screaming in joy as the B’s destroy the so called “team to beat”
Mark my words The Bruins Are The Team To Beat!!
At least the Canucks fans out here can understand me being a Bruins fan (Recchi, Lucic, Neely) all BC’ers.

  13. backbruin says:

Better then T.O. I’M PAYING 400 FOR TWO AND I COULD REACH UP AND TOUCH THE RAFTERS!!

  14. ELWOPPO says:

Me and BigBadBruins are going to watch the B’s vs the Laughs at the ACC in toronto sometime in December! Should be fun kicking the fuck out of them and raising Hell as alwayzzzzzzz!!!

  15. Bruins says:

Just watched Ryan Spooner and the Petes play yesterday. He’s going to be huge in the OHL this year. Definitely the best player on the ice from what I saw. They’re also using him with first round pick Austin Watson and likely top 10 pick in the upcoming draft (and future Bruin?) Matt Puempel so I think you might be seeing 80+ points this year.

  16. Bruins says:

How embarassing would it be if we lost to the Belfast Giants or HC Liberec?

  17. Bruins says:

Some of the line combos for the rookies:

    Arniel-Seguin-Knight
    MacDermid-Colborne-Caron
    Sauve-Spooner-Randell

  18. ennis says:

will any of these rookie or preseason games be televised?

  19. Brendan says:

ANY1 WANNA JOIN A FANTASY HOCKEY LEAGUE ESPN STYLE WIT SNAKE DRAFT?????

  20. Mook says:

    SLEEPER POOL PICK: RYDER
(I can’t wait to see all of you turkeys eat your words after Ryder pots 20 in his first 30 games…)

BOSTON GLOBE: Fluto Shinzawa reports Bruins forward Michael Ryder acknowledged the pressure to improve his performance this season. Shinzawa suggests Ryder could be demoted later this season to clear cap space for the return of forward Marco Sturm from long-term injury status.

BOSTON HERALD: Stephen Harris reports Bruins goalie Tim Thomas isn’t bothered by talk this summer of the Bruins trying to trade him, saying it’s in the past and he’s focussed on proving himself once again as the club’s top goalie.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Ryder will certainly have to step it up to avoid being a possible trade or demotion candidate this season. A determined Thomas meanwhile is good news for the Bruins as it’ll give them two solid netminders though it could over the long run created a difficult situation as he and Tuukka Rask battle for playing time. For now however I wouldn’t expect Thomas to be moved.

  21. G-Rant says:

    http://mobile.boston.com/art/42/sports/hockey/bruins/extras/bruins_blog/2010/09/mcgrattan_invit

Added drama to camp? Can’t imagine him getting in ahead of thornton and reich

  22. mook says:

Of those 3, McGrattan is the only true heavyweight.

    • Bruins says:

I think Thornton classifies as a heavy. Not in size but he can definitely take on the best. McGratton is a better fighter though.

  23. Bruins says:

The rookie game is going to be streamed on bostonbruins.com tonight.

  24. #4 says:

Anyone know if they got tickets at the door??

I have to go to a 6-9 thing for work tonight in downtown if I can jet early Im heading to the garden to get shitt’d with the hardcore b’s fans there tonight!

Just walkin around ive allready seen some of the bruins crazies in boston MAN it makes me miss hockey season!

    HERE WE GO BRUINS!!

  25. WARD says:

    any one watching the bruins?

  26. WARD says:

    seguin line looks good.

  27. Bruins says:

    Here’s my first period analysis:

    The good:

Alexandrov: He did take a penalty but overall you can really see his skill on display tonight. He’s awesome with the puck on his stick.

The Seguin line (with Knight and Arniel): they’re creating some good chances out there. Seguin looks very poised on the PP as well and looks great getting the puck back to the point.

MacDermid: He’s got some wheeld and looked great on the PK

Colborne and Sauve: Only for the two plays where they dangled the Islanders by themselves.

    The bad:

Caron: I haven’t noticed him out there even once.

Overall great period. The Bruins are forcing the Islanders to take penalties but haven’t capitalized yet. Couchraine looks good in the limited action he’s seen as well.

  28. Bruins says:

Oh yeah and it looks like our luck from last season has carried over here. The Isles goalie Koskinen is in beast mode right now…

  29. Bruins says:

Oh there’s Caron. Nice screen and tip for the goal.

  30. WARD says:

    yeah sauve looks good

  31. #4 says:

Omfg the first 41 seconds of bruins hockey I watch this year the Isles score ugh…

  32. #4 says:

    OMFG NOW JOE

  33. Bruins says:

Seguin with some Savvy-like feeds tonight. 2 assists. His last pass to Caron for the goal was awesome.

  34. ennis says:

this game is pretty exciting. definitely should be on nesn instead of the dead sox…

  35. Bruins says:

LMAO Caron is the only guy I complain about after the first and he comes through with a hattrick. Awesome game.

  36. DanD says:

Best 5 Dollars I ever spent. Wish I didn’t have to work during thursdays game. The whole Colborne thing was bad. He had his head down when he got hit. He laid down on the ice for a minute and when he got up he was stumbling. There was a lot of blood. O’neill beat the crap out of Donald Duck

  37. willisss says:

who else is going tonight? I just cracked my first beer, ill be the loud one that will probably eventually get kicked out…rookie game my asssssss, i will treat it as game 7 of the playoffs

  38. Bruins says:

Spoooooner.. what’d I tell you. This guy’s got skills. Even outside of his two goals he was easily the best player. He made one ridiculous saucer pass to Alexandrov earlier. Sauve was the next best player out there, followed by Alexandrov. Hutchinson was very solid in goal as well. I also though Kampfer had a great game.

Seguin, Caron and Knight tonight… not impressed.

  39. joeeeeeee says:

Spooooner!!! and Sauve we great all night. I was at both games and i was very impressed with these too. I think that Caron and Sauve could push vets like Ryder for a spot on this team. You guys can all call me crazy but Seguin did nothing in both games. Yea, he had a great assist to Caron in the first game but he was almost a ghost in the second game. I dont know if he was not trying or what but he did not look anywhere near like one of the top players on the ice. I think the bruins could be fine sending him back to jrs for another year and going with a player like Caron, Sauve, or even Colbourne (who looked good until he got injured in the first game).

    • Seguin>Hall says:

I agree… I really can’t believe how invisible Seguin was on the ice. In my opinion he is a longshot to make the team. As of right now, my name on this may be wishfull thinking.

      • bruins4eva says:

you can’t judge his play on two games…on which he is playing with rookies…i don’t expect him to blow up…you are only as good as the players around you…so don’t easily criticize him already take it easy

      • #4 says:

I havent seen it but he might of been a littles shell shocked in the garden for the first 2 times..

HEs only 18 remember and had 10k people watching him he’ll probably get more comfortable with it soon.

      • Bruins says:

And the overreacting begins… He showed flashes over the two games and even last night. I thought how he was able to kick that bad pass up to his stick from his feet at full speed to give him a scoring chance early on was impressive.

For the guy above, what did Colborne show at all? I remember one good rush in that game and that’s it. Just because people have unrealistic expectations for Seguin in two exhibition games doesn’t make him the lesser player.

Sending him back to Junior would be counter-productive. He just won the MVP. How can he develop his game any further there? Playing with guys like Bergeron, Recchi, and Krejci should really bring out his creativity and scoring touch.

  40. #4 says:

Can you still watch the second game online anywhere??

Had to take my GF out to fancy french restuarant we had a $70 gift card, still cost me $70.. . and of course no TVS sweet haha

  41. seguin>hall says:

All are very good points. I’m just saying that he may need a little adjusting. He was ranked 1st in central scouting because they project who will be the best down the road. I have no doubts that he will develop into a franchise player. I just think the front office should be careful with him… Since he is only 18.

    • Bruins says:

But what option do they have but to play him in the NHL? He can’t go to the AHL and he’d be going back to a league that he already dominated while being a full year older now. Physically he’s much stronger now than he was during last year. He’s put on close to 20 pounds since then.

  42. Bruins says:

Sauve, Caron and Alexandrov look ready now. Not to mention that Sauve was injured during development camp so his performance was even more impressive. It would be cool to see something like:

    Lucic-Savard-Horton
    Sauve-Krejci-Seguin
    Recchi-Bergeron-Caron
    Paille-Campbell-Thornton

    Chara-Seidenberg
    Boychuk-Stuart
    Ference-Alexandrov

Ryder to Finland and Wheeler to wherever.

    • willisss says:

wheeler to wherever and hunwick not even in the line up? dislike. caron is ahl eligible, look for him to start in provi.

as for Seguin, anyone who was at the game had eyes locked on to him to see what hes got, last night he played horrible. it looked like he was half assing it

      • Bruins says:

Not a fan of Wheeler. Obviously he’ll be on the team but I’d prefer he wasn’t.

Alexandrov > Hunwick. Dude is so much smarter with and without the puck.

I really think Caron’s ready. He’s got the size and thrives off of going down low and is strong on the puck. Sounds like a perfect fit with Bergeron and Recchi. He could jump in right away.

Don’t kid yourself, Seguin is way too talented not to make the team. Putting him with NHL calibre guys will bring out his creativity and skill even more. While he wasn’t impressive in one exhibition game I wouldn’t hold him back by sending him to a league where he’s already dominated.

  43. Mook says:

remember what a boner everyone had for wheeler and hunwick at the beginning of last season?

don’t let one sub-par season make you wish that we had 13 rookies in the lineup…

  44. willisss says:

if anyone was at the game and heard drunk assholes still rocking a tuukka chant, that would be me.

  45. #4 says:

Kinda slow going here at work watched the highlights from last night.

Love the 2 spooner goals this team needs more finish hopefully him and caron become nice finishers. Aside from that the rookie goalie for the B’s played well but most the highlights looked like the Isle’s controlled the pace of play and I saw alot of B’s dman running around not doing too much.

  46. willisss says:

    Where was tommy cross?

    • Bruins says:

College players have to pay for all their own accomadations if they play here since school has started, like Colborne last year for rookie camp. That’s why you didn’t see any college guys playing.

  47. Dbruins says:

    RIP PAT BURNS

  48. Bruins says:

Now apparently Burns hasn’t died. Fucking media… this is just pathetic.

  49. Bruins says:

Savvy is suffering from symptoms of post-concussion syndrome and he wont be out on ice/available to media. Awesome…
