Bartkowski cut

Matt Bartkowski has been cut today, trimming the Bruins roster to 23 players.  Bartkowski showed some promise throughout the preseason and should be the first defenseman recalled if there is an injury (Andrew Ference).  Julien previously stated that he would rather have Bartowski see regular minutes in Providence rather than sit on the bench as a 7th defenseman in the NHL.  If Matt Hunwick or even Mark Stuart struggle this season look for Bartkowski to get a shot as a bottom pairing defenseman.

So Ska St. Petersburg took a bunch of Runs at the Carolina team and SKA won 5-3. Staal almost got his ACL fried from a deliberate low knee seeking hit and the coach pulled him.

This is staals quote about being pulled to avoid injury:

“I wanted to go back on the ice badly, score a few and fist pump down the ice,” he said.

hahaha get this guy on the B’S!!! (i wish…)

okay just saw it on the

I think it’s VERY likely we will see him be called up a few times, especially with everyone’s favorite Oft-injured hippie on the roster. Don’t get me wrong, I like Ference, but I’d like him a lot more if he wasn’t so prone to injury. I did like Bartkowski’s efforts and hockey sense. I wouldn’t be shocked if we made a Defensive trade and traded away a 3or 4 Defenseman for picks or maybe a 3rd line forward. Similar to Paille. I do have to say I’m going to miss Begin’s hustle on that line. He might not have won every faceoff, but the guy would rather throw himself face first into the ice than give it up without a fight. I feel like Begin and Satan are going to be a combined P.J. Axelsson effect. A couple guys who do a lot of the little things right and don’t hurt you when they’re out there. But you notice them when they’re gone. I hope I’m wrong. Go B’s!

Looks like McGrattan will sign, as per Andy Strickland:

The Boston Bruins are expected to sign tough guy Brian McGrattan who has been in training camp on a professional tryout. There’s a chance the veteran heavy weight signs a two-way contract and doesn’t start the regular season on the roster. If McGrattan signs a two-way deal you can expect him to accept the $105,000 AHL salary which would prevent him from being subjected to re-entry waivers.

    Im loving this!

    Dear NHL,

How about next year, you guys pick out an even gayer band to play before the season starts…

    • Bruins says:

      LMAO no kidding.

I’m watching the game tonight too. Good to see tank nation up and running so early.

And that whole thing about the ice being made from Canadian water is the gayest thing I’ve ever seen, besides Hedley.

    • pearson says:

i missed it. gimme two guesses:

      1) nickleback
      2) hinder

i watched the chi/col game. it was hard to tell if col looks like a suprise team, chicago lost its punch, or its just reeeeal early

  11. mook says:

    tank nation…

  12. bruins4eva says:

Bergie extended for 3 yrs at 15 mil…seems a lil short in yrs don’t ya think…i was expecting 7 or something along those lines

  13. Bruins says:

At least he’s locked up. Would have preferred a little longer of a contract but oh well. He’s crucial to this team’s success.

  14. seguin>hall says:

Just finished watching the oilers-flames game. Edm dominated but hall didn’t do much. Eberle on the other had was unbelievable. Make sure u all see the highlight of his 1st goal. McIntire knocked someone out in a fight too, also a highlight to catch. We did well getting tyler, I can feel it

  15. Bruins says:

Bergeron will have completed 3 long term deals by the time he’s 28. That’s crazy.

  16. Haus says:

3 yrs 15mil. That means his cap number will go up. I figured the Bs were going to negotiate it down.

    • Jefe77 says:

Sort of surprised at that as well, probably why it took longer than expected. Ah well, at least its done and they can re-assess in 3 yrs. Overall, it was critical to get him locked up.

  17. Bruins4life13 says:

    have we signed chara yet?
if not 7.5 million could get us alot on the free agant market

  18. Gcole says:

Glad to see Bergeron gets a deal, now just chara needs one, there’s no way they can let him go. Yeah he had a bad year last year but the dudes a fucking beast and he’s so good you don’t notice it because he just always takes care of business. I’m confident he’ll get signed, especially with the boner PC has for defense

  19. moast says:

Bottom Line….Bergeron stays and 5 mil is what he deserves….hes a beast.
Chara will get 7-7.5 and keeping him is priority. People are saying that 7 mil on the open market would be nice but c’mon who will you get to replace him? And who will be in his calibre that wont demand 6mil+.
Keep Bergie and Chara, Rask, Seguin, Luch, Horton, Krejci, Seids and Boychuk.
