I think Ovechkin just got a little happy in his pants.

  2. cebbie says:

Sure looks like he is being played to set him up for a trade –

  3. Mook says:

no, looks like timmy is taking-back starting goaltender. don’t forget, thomas didn’t play poorly last year, tuukka just played outstanding.

thomas wasn’t given this huge contract because chia is a complete dumbass. timmy wants to play, and will.

if thomas wins this game, i think he starts thursday too.

  4. Baltimore Bruins says:

    waht Mook said

    • CCMGoalie says:

I’m following Mook here as well. Gotta go with the hot hand for the game. Why would you take a player whose playing well out of the lineup? And let’s not forget it’s not that Tuuka played terribly in the first game, he just didn’t play perfect and he didn’t have a whole lot of help either. So I think as long as Tuuka avoids a severe Sophomore slump we’re looking at one of, if not the best, two goalie tandem in the league.

  5. Richardo says:

yeeeeeeup!! If Thomas is healthy and playing well, they have to play em… No harm in that at all!!! I say ride Thomas as long as he’s healthy & hot!!

Oh and Thomas isnt going anywhere…

  6. Whopperfoo says:

I think its important to note that Thomas – while old – has only played in 5 NHL seasons, he’s probably still got some learning/improving to do in this league.

  7. moast says:

Timmy should stay on the team.
Rask and Thomas until Rasks contract is up.
Who cares who plays as long as there playing well.

The only other tandem in the league that comes close is Luongo and Schneider in Vancouver….really solid.

I say Timmy gets a shutout vs Washington and starts on Thursday where the B’s will only win by a goal or shoot out. Rask play son saturday and gets the shutout….pretty bold but hey Im stoked!!!

  8. backbruin says:

I think you need to play the matchup and i don’t think Thomas matches up well against the Caps. He’s a great flopper but the way Washington moves the puck i can guarantee we may see a couple layups tonight!!

I’d go with Rask, if he loses then go back to Timmy!

I really don’t want to shake Rask’s confidence not that it is! as he’s calm cool and collected but 3 games in a row after getting pumped for 5..ahhhhhhh i don’t know!

i just hope we come out on top either way!

    • Bruins says:

I’m pretty sure they were going to split the Washington games no matter what. Why not try to ride Thomas a bit and give him the first start?

      • backbruin says:

Well were only 3 games in and Timmy’s only played 2 games so using the word hot to describe him is a little premature. But I’m not dead against the start, the biggest reason is that i have Tuuka in my pool and want him to start soon before i need to go out and deal for another goalie! lololol
        go Timmy go B’S!

  9. N.Horton18 says:

i have to agree with cebbie, thomas is sooo gettin set up for a trade.
    hes 35 retireing fairly soon
and rask is 24 (i think) and only improving trade timmy for a d-man

  10. Bruins says:

The Lucic-Krejci-Horton line is unreal. What do we do when Savvy gets back?

    • BosBrn77 says:

They are a lot better then most of us thought they would be! Kind of scary! Maybe keep them together and put Savard between Seguin and Ryder?

And do you think Hendricks wanted to fight cause he was made me traded him for Boychuk?! LOL

      • BosBrn77 says:

I meant cause he was MAD! Sorry for the typo!

      • Bruins says:

I honestly have no idea. And what about when Sturm comes back?
So many weapons on this team. Even Ryder is making a case for himself. Someone like him would have to go to make room though.

Lol yeah that may have factored into it.

  11. Bruins says:

Holy shit Timmy looks good. This goaltending tandem has the potential to be amazing this year.

  12. ccm says:

Since when do we put up two goals in an entire game, none the less a single period?

The first line is unbelievable. With the space Horton and Lucic create for Krejci is the key. Give him that kind of time and the opponent will definitely pay for it—even more so with a goal scorer like Horton.

  13. Bruins says:

Holy fuck Hunwick… How can anyone like this guy?

  14. Gcole says:

I guess it’s too easy to play 5v3… Both teams
    Suck with that so far

  15. Gcole says:

Jesus christ next time the bruins are about to get the pp, if I were julien I’d just say “I forgive you” and ask to keep it 5 on 5. They might as well because they suck balls on powerplay

  16. Bruins says:

What a bullshit call on Chara. We better be getting a make-up call.

  17. Birdman2403 says:

  18. goosegoose says:

Free NHL Center Ice until 10/24. Any how the ref’s are sucking tonight both teams getting BS calls.

  19. Gcole says:

Lucic krejci Horton line is fuckin awesome

  20. Bruins says:

Good win. Thomas played amazing tonight. The top line was beastly. Don’t like how much the Caps outplayed us in the third but at least they came out on top.

  21. mook says:

    so who starts thursday?

  22. CCMGoalie says:

Look we already know that Thomas plans to retire after his contract is up. So why on earth if he’s going to play well and be a 5 million dollar cap hit, who in their right mind would want to trade him? 5 Million for a solid goaltender who has won a Vezina who can help provide a good buffer zone for Tuuka to hone his game and work on his imperfections while having Thomas there to pick up some time and ease Tuuka into a 60+ games a season starting role. Give it time, Timmy’s not going anywhere, neither is Tuuka as long as we have them both under contract.

  23. willisss says:

I will admit, seeing thomas play well makes me happy, not just because the bruins are winning but it increases his value. There is nothing timmy did these past 3 games that tuukka couldn’t have done. Tuuks first game the bruins did not even show up. The more value thomas gains the better chance the bruins have in trading him. An extra 5 mill a year could be huge. Could tuukka fall apart? Of course. Do I think that will happen? Not at all. I am not taking anything away from thomas, he has been playing very well these past 3 games but this is not a cap friendly team. I am not saying trade right away, but rask needs to show his stuff and if it is what I hope it is, then pull the trigger.

By the way where’s my friend al sims?

  24. Bruins46 says:

woowwwwww all you guys HATED on Timmy last season and now he’s the best!

  25. ELWOPPO says:

If savard for some stupid reason is finished with ho
ckey, what happens to his salary ? Does it still count towards our cap for 7 years? I sure as fuck hope not!??

    • willisss says:

Long term ir does not count on the cap hit. That won’t be the case though, he will be back. Nhl cap only hits active roster players, it will be interesting to see who the odd man out will be with the way they have been playing.

    • ccm says:

With how Caron has been playing i’d sit wheeler in a heartbeat over him. Caron has shown unbelievable puck protection in corners and just seems to be grittier than Wheeler despite being smaller.

    • Bruins says:

The cap hit disappears. The only scenario where someone’s cap hit would not disappear would be if his contract started when he was 35 or older. Even if that person gets abducted by aliens that cap hit isn’t coming off.

  26. Andy says:

Loved the win last night. A couple observations :

    1. TT had some things go wrong for him last yr (hip, Tuukka playing unbelievable, and some bad games). I think he’s out to prove people wrong this year and he’s doing a great job in the earlygoing. As for trade bait, I don’t think they even SNIFF that scenario until the deadline, and that’s only if they can get a great pick or young prospects in return.

    2. The KHL line IS sick! It’s been 4 games and I FUCKING LOVE Horton! Not just a scorer, but a playmaker as well. Takes the body, works hard. Love the chemistry!

    3. Don’t like the way Hunwick & Ference are playing. Yes, he scored the goal, but they both look like they’re a stride behind everyone else – and look timid. As I said on another post, I believe that Bartowski will be playing a regular shift with the B’s by Thanksgiving.

    4. Finally, LOVE the way the D are jumping into the play to create offense. They did this a couple years ago when they had the highest scoring team in the conference, but got away from it last year. Keep doing it and you’ll create many more scoring opps. The flipside to that is that a F has to cover, and they’ve been doing a great job of that so far.

I think Tuukka gets the nod tomorrow. Should be a great atmosphere. It’s on NHL Network, for those who don’t plan on going, or are out of state, like me..

  27. jmed says:

I think they stuck Ference & Hunwick together so they could cut back the ice time.

    Ference played 11minutes
    Hunwick played 14minuts

  28. #4 says:

I cant believe Ryder is skating his ass off this year. Good for him (and us I guess). But I wish we could get seguin on a different line. Id just like to see how Seguin-Bergy-Caron skate together. I know thats alot of youth but I like all of those players.

Ryder-Wheeler-Rex/Paille isnt that bad of a third line either.

    • willisss says:

I agree that it could be a solid line but as of now if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it

      • #4 says:

Very true but mostly all of the Production is coming from MKH line right now anyways. Plus you have to fool around a bit b4 savvy comes back.

  29. Bruins says:

Like I was saying above, what do we do when Savvy and Sturm get back? I think I’d go with:

Ryder has played well so far but that contract is obviously the elephant in the room. Unloading him and Ryder should beenough I think? If not I guess Paille can go as I don’t even have him on the team here (I like the energy that Marchand brings). Caron gets the first call-up for an injury.

Obviously the first line can’t be broken up.

It’s a risk putting two guys coming off an injury with Seguin but I think this line could be great if they gel. There’s a concern about putting two pass-happy players together but we all know what Savvy can do with a right-handed shot on his right side. Sturm is there to do the dirty work and chip in a few goals.

I hate putting the plug Wheeler with Bergeron (just yesterday I saw Wheeler shank 2 golden opportunities off of beautiful Bergeron plays) but he’ll just have to stay there. You get Rex back with Bergy. I’m also not against Caron staying up full-time and unloading Wheeler.

    4th line is self explanatory.

I like Seids with Chara as per usual. I’d really like to see Bartkowski get a shot. The reason why I put him up ahead of Stuart is because I want to have a guy that can at least move the puck a bit on every pairing (Seidenberg, Bartkowski, Ference).

    • Bruins says:

*Unloading Ryder and Hunwick should be enough

    • N.Horton18 says:

one minor problem on your second line, sturn cant really do dirty work i think putting caron on that line would be great and also i wish we still had byron bitz cuz he was really good at the dirty work

      • Bruins says:

I think that’s Sturm’s calling card. He’s a blue-collar type of player. Nothing fancy but he will go to the dirty areas. His speed also will open things up for them.

  30. hendrik says:

    caron for wheeler.

  31. #4 says:

Heres my Lineup for when Savvy-Sturm get back

    Lucic-Krejci-Horton( the KHL Line)
    Seguin-Bergy-Caron(the frenchies)
Sturm-Savard-Wheeler ( big ?? could be good line)
    Marchand-campbell-Thornton (the energy line)

    Ryder/Paille sent off to wherever.

    Chara – Siedes
    Boy – Stuart
    Ferrence – McQuaid/Kamp/Bart

    Hunwick shipped off with ryder/paille.

Then at the te tradedeadline you have a bit of room to move a Pick/Prospect/underperforming contract for a top2 DMAN to Challenge Chara to be his best in the playoffs.

  32. Mook says:

Oct 28 vs leafs: do we call-up McGrattan?

  33. willisss says:

    Tuukka first off…love it

  34. moast says:

    Game predictions?

    4-2 Bruins (Empty Netter)
Horton Hat Trick!….Overly Optimistic I know!!!

  35. ccm says:

    Michael Fucking Ryder.

    He’s a brand new player.

    • Bruins says:

Lol I think you have to give most of the credit to Bergy on that goal though. Nice to see Seguin with an assist as well.

      • ccm says:

No I know, incredible vision. But I was referring to much more than the goal. He’s a new player. He’s skating much harder, finishing hits, and ripping the puck, and when he does all that man is he dangerous.

And on another note, Seguin is going to be incredible. Did you see his speed through the neutral zone?

      • Bruins says:

Yeah it’s pretty amazing. We should put him with Wheeler so Wheeler can’t keep going offside because he’s not as fast.

      • BosBrn77 says:

LMAO! Great idea Bruins! Wheeler will be trying to catch up!

  36. Bruins says:

Thomas is possessed. He’s playing out of his mind right now.

  37. goosegoose says:

why is ryders stick purple. And im a huge caps fan but man bruins are making them look like an AHL team

    • goosegoose says:

of course my loyalty is to boston before washington

    • pearson says:

its a breast cancer thing. seriously. players around the league, and in the nhl have been doing purple instead of pink because (according to an unnamed bport sound tigers player) “pink is too gay.”

after that goal, i dont care if it stays purple all season.

also, columbus took the ice for a pregame skate yesterday with purple jerseys.

      • goosegoose says:

I figured, but it should be pink…i don’t know why guys have a problem with pink. If all the thugs in the NFL can wear pink gloves and shoes, NHL players should man up and wear pink.

  38. Bruins says:

    Bergeron is a fucking magician!

  39. ryderFanBoy says:

Ryder is gonna have a huge year. He’s exploding with the puck tonight.

  40. North B says:

    Wheeler is fucking useless!

  41. Vince Mendella says:

    Can Wheeler hit the net??

  42. Bruins says:

    I miss Wideman.

  43. chitownbruin says:

why does the garden look empty? home opener also.

  44. pearson says:

trade tuukka. we dont need him.

just kidding. seiously. im 100% joking, but i am not at all going to be suprised to hear mr. eklund start that rumor if thomas keeps this up. un-f’ing-believeable

  45. Gcole says:

    Love the Shawn Thornton commercial

  46. backbruin says:

wow, i can’t say a bad thing about anyone tonight!! this team is really good and deep as hell…caron looks like he wants it and seguin is flying and looks to be getting more comfortable!

  47. backbruin says:

Bergy and Wheeler are snake bit but once they get it going look omg… It looks like wheeler is pissd out there i love it!

  48. Vince Mendella says:

  49. Gcole says:

Wow… Way to give up a first goal. That hurt

  50. willisss says:

wanna bet the bruins wont hit a four game or higher win streak this whole year?

thats really all i have to say. goodnight boys

    • backbruin says:

How true i remember that comment!! i guess that shits’s on his credibility!!

He should be grounded from posting for at least a month!

      Bruins4life13 2 45 7 8 978 6

      your grounded!

    • N.Horton18 says:

way to go willisss you just jinxed boston now there gunna lose to the rangers
btw Bruins4life13, ur a fucking goof

  51. Bruins says:

Despite Rask not getting a chance to prove himself this season, he now has to battle Thomas to get his starting job back. It looks like Timmy is our guy as of right now.

  52. backbruin says:

Not a bad problem to have is it! Good if they want to trade him and good if they don’t!

  53. sabung ayam says:

Aw, this was an extremely good post. Taking a few minutes and actual effort to generate a good article… but what can I say… I put things off a whole lot and don’t seem to get anything done.
