Milan Lucic had his hearing today regarding the match penalty he received in Thursday’s game against Atlanta. As a result Lucic will be fined $2500 for the punch he threw and $1000 for his gesture towards the Atlanta bench.

i’ll be in barfalo for the semis (both games). being canadian, i’m sad to say that i’ll be surprised if i see canada there. they don’t look good this year. maybe it’s just opening day jitters…usa won by a lick…
Canada is by far the best team in this tournament, even if they don’t look as good as in the past. USA is the only team that can give them a run for their money.

god i hate the OT/shootout rules. 5 mins? best of 3?

Should go right to shoot out for 5 rounds only and if no1 wins after that their can be a skill competition and the first team to win 3 of 5 events wins the game!
Sarcasm aside. Why not just another 20min period 5-5 then a shoot out?
they have schedules to keep/flights to catch, thats why they dont roll for another 20.
i always thought itd be cool to go 4on4 for 5. then another 5 at 3on3. that way it keeps the team aspect alive while highly increasing the likelihood of a goal.
then best of 5 shootout if they still cant get one in the previous 10
