ESPN – Bruins interested in Moulson

According to John Buccigross of ESPN, the Bruins and Islanders are discussing a trade for Matt Moulson. The Islanders would receive draft picks in return.  However, Bob Mckenzie of TSN, rules out the Bruins as a potential suitor for Moulson.  Here is what McKenzie tweeted:

“if the NYI are trading Matt Moulson, as has been reported/rumored elsewhere, I am told it’s not to Boston.”

Moulson commands a 2.45 million dollar cap hit this season, meaning the Bruins would have to shed salary to get him in under the cap. Also if Moulson were to come here, where would he be slotted? The Bruins have too many forwards, with Blake Wheeler already being bumped to the fourth line in this afternoon’s game.  Therefore, Moulson to Boston seems unlikely.

  1. Bruins says:

Not a fan. Decent player, but overall I haven’t been that impressed with him. I don’t see the need for the Bruins to make any moves right now.

  2. Caperfan says:

I agree we don’t need Moulson. He is a descent player but we have others to fill that role of the same calibre on this team. Power play is our problem and it begins on defencse. we ned a quater back puck moving defenseman. Special teams are vital in the playoffs and the B’s power play on defense is in my view where they need serious help. “Kaberle” or “Yandle”.

    • moast says:

What if they are setting it up as Ryder and a 2nd to NYI for Moulson to create space.
then with the space created along with picks and prospects for the Dman thats needed.
I agree Bruins, there really isn’t need for a move like this, except to free up some space and yes I would take Moulson over Ryder for sure. This guy is a solid player, is young and cheaper than Ryder.

  3. mook says:

do we really need a personnel change?

  4. backbruin says:

I like this kid, he puts up descent #’s on quite possibly the worst team in hockey!!! and yes why shake it up when were scoring, well rumors like this motivate the current players so keep em coming baby!!

i do like matt though!! good skill!

  5. Gcole says:

Why now? They’re Finally clicking on all cylinders and more trade rumors? Let it go! Let the team we have get used to each other and figure out line combos, don’t make a trade!

  6. mook says:

bruins lost twice in regulation in their last 15 games, and have scored 6 or more goals in 3 of their last 4 games (thanks, tsn). no changes, no coach firings, no matt “flash in the pan” moulson, no nothing.

    thomas = vezina
    bergeron = selke
    chara = norris

    • #4 says:

If chara keeps up this pace he’s def a contender. No need for Moulson is he better than Wheeler/Horton/Ryder? Or better enough to warrant picks for him?

Id be more interested in raping TOR on a deal for Kab’s. 3rd rounder for kabs sounds good lol.

  7. jimmy50 says:

Without cap space available it would have to be draft picks and an offensive player like Ryder or Savard that gets moved.

    Horton Savard Lucic
    Wheeler Krejci Moulson
    Recchi Bergeron Seguin
    Thornton Campbell Marchand

On Stand by: Paille and Caron

  8. mook says:

Andrew Ference, who has been sidelined with an upper body injury and could suit up on Tuesday against the Hurricanes. – Boston Globe

    soooooo who sits?

    i say sit johnny

  9. Bruins says:

Trap game tonight. The second game of a back-to-back after you destroy the other team is always tough to win. Let’s hope we can keep the momentum rolling.

  10. #4 says:

    Wtf is with Power Rankings?

TSN has teh B’s at #2

Espn #8 up from 14 last week?

  11. God is on OUR side!!!!!! says:

back to the moulson trade, i would not want this guy the only problem is our powerplay so maybe a teemmu selanne type player so help finish better on our PP

Bos: Bos 1st rd pick 2011
    Blake Wheeler
    Micheal Ryder

    Ana: Teemmu Selanne
    Lubomir Visnovsky
    Luca Sbisa
we get a pure scorer and a PMD plus a great prospect D-man and yes we do lose two forwards, but lets face it they are doing fuck all anyways. to replace ryder we have Selanne and to replace Wheeler, we bring either Jordan Caron up or we bring Jamie Arniel up.

    • God is on OUR side!!!!!! says:

    • Haus says:

That’s a lot of locker room turnover for a team with the best record in the conference since December 1st. Selanne won’t move because the only reason he signed with Anaheim and not retire or play in Finland is because he loves it there and calls it home. That would be like the Bruins trading Recchi, but instead of him being here around 2 years make it 10 or 15 or however many years Teemu has been there. I like Lubo but Anaheim is pushing for playoffs, and don’t want to subtract from their blueline. I’m curious about Sbisa though. Maybe he could be had in exchange for a high pick or top-notch prospect. I disagree about Ryder and Wheeler doing ‘fuck all’. Ryder is on pace for 27 goals, about what you expect from him. Wheeler gets ice time in a lot of crunch time situations, and is looking at 20 goals.

      • God is on OUR side!!!!!! says:

thanks for your input man, i didnt know about the whole selanne situation. And like you i would really like to see Lubo in one of our shirts, but you raised a good point about them pushing for the playoffs. As for sbisa, could we get him for Joe Colbourne, or Zach Hamill?

    • Haus says:

Why would Anaheim want to do this deal?

  12. Gcole says:

KARMA! staal dives like a pussy then gets a slashing penalty! Haha you faker that’s what you get

  13. Gcole says:

Seguin krejci. Lucic looks like a lethal line, give them some time and that could be amazing

  14. Birdman2403 says:

Too bad the Bruins didn’t have a 5th line. Wheeler would look awesome on it !!! Ice the puck you clown, your killing a penalty !

  15. bill says:

wheeler is about as streaky as the shit stains on my shorts

  16. Bruins says:

I haven’t seen the Bruin get this outplayed in a long time. Timmy might have to stop triple figures in this one lol

  17. lucic crew says:

Fuck i hate thomas get rid of him he told me to go fuck myself. Goooooooo bsssssssssssssssss

  18. Bruins says:

The team really stepped up in the third after an ugly first couple periods. Thomas should win the Hart this year.

  19. Manitoba Fan says:

Well we didnt deserve the win in this one but our boy Timmy Thomas sure did. I thought we came out really strong in the first half of the first period, and maybe the first half of the third. All those penalties we took in the second really got Carolina going and we just couldn’t bounce back.
I really like our line combinations right now. I think they all look good. Nice to have Lucic get another one and for fuck sakes how many chances does Horton need. Fuck he could have had three today. Aww well thy’ll come. Hopefully the boys put up a better effort on thursday.
    GO B’S

    • #4 says:

good points. I agree about horton wtf. I can just seem him with a net and the puck doing the happy gilmore “get in your home, your home isnt good enough?’.

But I dont agree that they didnt deserve the win. I saw some good effort tonigth and thomas lead the team to the win. Role guys like thornton and boychuck gave the b’s the extra boost tonight imo.

      • Manitoba Fan says:

It’s not that i think the team was completely awful i just thought they were outplayed for most of the game. But thanks to Thomas and their extreme resiliency on all those penalty kills, we got it. I will take 2 point over 0 points anyday. And I totally agree that Thornton and Boychuck were monsters, giving the B’s that boost.
Buffalo beat Montreal….Fuck ya!I was watching that game on tsn and Peirre Mcguire said that Gerbe from the buffalo sabers is “built like a keg of dynamite”. WTF. That peirre is weird man!
Anyway fellow B’s fans… Fuck ya boys!

    • ELWOPPO says:

Couldnt have said it better myself! Ur absolutly right!

  20. Craig says:

Seems like the Habnots are dropping like flies in Buf. tonight. Go Buf. go. Might not hear from FRENCH FRY for awhile.

  21. #4 says:

The hits by thornton and boychuck in the third period are how you win hockey games. Good win in a trap game go bs.

Lets take bets now. Does Marchand score 20g this year? i think he does.

  22. cebbie says:

If anyone gets traded it should be Savard –
With him back Kreji looks a little lost –
I didnt mind Wheeler at center – and would not mind seeing Caron brought back up

  23. mook says:

hey i have an idea…let’s trade noone! we’ll win the cup with this team.

    • #4 says:

Eh Mook dont be dellusional there is a chance for them to win. But they dont have the Talent of Van/Det/Phi and to a lesser extent Pitts(though they have good records against those teams)

Plenty of room for a #2 defenseman to take McQ/Boychucks. Add that and I like thier chances more, im not sold on the fact that another 30goal guy is waht they need. Offensive depth is good and lookat what Horton/Ryder are doing we dont need any lateral moves. But a #2 DMAN is an improvement and would improve their chances alot.

IMO Wheeler on the 4th line makes him tradebait because IMO Caron can handle that load.

      • Bruins says:

Detroit is the only team in the league that I don’t like our chances against, and that’s if they’re healthy.

    • cebbie says:

I have been waiting over 30 years now –
I think they have had better teams than this one over the years – I think they are still missing one or two pieces yet –

      Eklund is an idiot E5

  24. ELWOPPO says:

Willisss did u just call Tim Thomas a douuche??????????

    • willisss says:

      little bit

      • Haus says:

I read the comments from Timmy that you are referring to, and I don’t think they were awful at all. It sounds exactly like what I have been saying to the casuals I run into all the time. I’m not sure where you live, Williss, but here in Boston most sports opinion is driven by talk radio. Seeing that there are zero hockey people on the daily shows on either radio station, they tend to dismiss the Bruins by trashing Jacobs and the franchise recent history. They don’t follow the team and don’t want to talk about them, unless they lose and then there is a quick mention in the negative. Even after the 7-0 win there was one of those clowns trashing the team. According to another guy, he recently referred to them as struggling. So, to my point, that attitude transfers to the fans in the form of needless drama. And that Timmy listens to sports talk radio.

  25. ELWOPPO says:

Wow, u just became public enemy #1 on this site! Stop talking please ur a disgrace to all bruin fans! Not only is he the best goalie in the NHL hes also one of the most humble and caring! Not to mention the guy is always smiling! Ur a very foolish little boy for talking that nonsense! Shame on u willy!

    • willisss says:

would there be any chance of you going into the archives and reading your own comments regarding Tim Thomas from last season?

      just saying…

  26. ELWOPPO says:

Ha ha ha, talking to the wrong guy regarding thomas! Ive done nothing but praise this guy for the past 5 years! As a matter of fact ive been asked several times to leave bars and restaurants sticking up for him here in Toronto! The only time i complain about him is when he is playing poorly, not over some silly comments! Sorry try again Willy! Ur busted!

    • pearson says:

what i think williss was saying thomas shouldnt be saying that one game doesnt matter, especially when they werent playing well. its a douchey thing to say when your fans are filling the building and paying good money to go, and you dont think that 1 game is important.

but no elwoppo, youre right, no one here ever says stupid shit about other players and never you. so lets crucify this bitch.

      • willisss says:

there is no way hes going to catch on to that…

      • lucic crew says:

The difference is bitching about when players play like shit and or comments thomas said. Give me a break, comments really? At least we bitch about players who are playing like shit and not players who lead in goals against, save percentage and tied for shutouts, because of what he said. You two have to get your heads right out of your asses and be thankful we have thomas. I dont know about you tw, comments wow.

      • TheBellEnd says:

let me jump in here and help, Willisss…this entire site and the threads in it is a perfect example of band-wagon-jumping…all of you fucks have done it…few of us on here can call themselves true fans…Willisss, pearson…you are 2 of em…Elwoppo, guys are ridiculous…and now you’ll want to fight me cuz that makes you cool…or you’ll call me a faggot which you make you cool as well…

go watch the Leafs if you wanna bitch, fuckheads…christ

  27. ELWOPPO says:

He was wrong for bashing Thomas, And he knows it! Stop trying to defend him! And Pearson stop interfering, This doesnt concern u! Willisss is a big boy, He knows what he said! Let him fend for himself!

    • lucic crew says:

willisss your wrong plain and simple leave it alone. And all elwoppo has done is praise thomas, which he deserves.

      • willisss says:

You 2 get way too upset…I said nothing about his on ice game (in this case)…just off ice comments. I didn’t care for them at all, I never will, and I will always think less of him as a professional because of it. Move on with your life man

    • Jefe77 says:

I went at with Williss about Timmy a few seasons back (and embarrassed myself), but in the end; we can agree to disagree about Timmy.

That wasn’t something you want your starting goalie to say, but Tim Thomas has once again put his work in and it pays off with saves and wins. Tuuka surely is our goalie of the future, but Timmy has written one of the greatest short stories in NHL goaltending history.

Tuuka played good last year, playoffs included; but chew on this…what if Timmy Thomas was playing this good in the playoffs last year, and how far could they have gone?

Stanley Cup. That’s what I’m thinking.

  28. Haus says:

Put me on record for understanding Williss sentiments but also knowing where Timmy is coming from because in the minds of the jock-sniffers on WEEI as well as the Sports Hub (with the exception of the morning drive guys) this team is average at best, the owner and management don’t care, and the hardcore Bruins fans are numbskulls. This attitude catches on throughout Boston sports fans and puts those who are hardcore Bruins fans in a spot where they are always having to defend the team.

    • Haus says:

To add… When fans are constantly defending the team every loss is agonizing. If you look at the Celtics and the NBA, its rare for them to lose because there is no parity like there is in the NHL. That understanding doesn’t come across to those who don’t watch hockey, just report the scores. Every loss feels like game 7, when its not, and shouldn’t be treated that way.

  29. #4 says:

Yeah I agree with Willis it wasnt the right thing to say. But thomas’s actions speak louder than his words for sure. Also like you said haus sports radio around here sucks and is hyper-critical of the burns so in a way I don’t blame tt for telling them to stfu

    • Haus says:

Yeah I always took it as more of a shot at those guys and less at the fans. Another radio gem after the 7-0 win… ‘Yeah they won big but it was against Carolina’.

      • Jefe77 says:

Boston sports media does their best to stir the pot; can’t stand the pessimism, and the illusion they create about the state of the team as mentioned above.

Sometimes I want to punch KPD right in the face, and he is one of the better Boston based hockey pundits.

The Bruins are for Bruins fans, not so much like the Sox, Pats and Celtics who seem to pick up media support and fair weather fans at the drop of a hat. They have also won championships as everyone knows, which allows the media to ‘raise the bar’ of expectations, justifying their reason to bash a good team.

  30. ELWOPPO says:

K lets all move on, Thomas is Da man and thats all thier is to it! He can tell all of us to go fuck areselves, but as long as he keeps stopping that dam puck, He can say what ever he wants! Btw i like rask too, he is playing great hockey as of late! He will get his chance! But right now its Thomas’ time to shine, He’s about to shatter Hasek’s single season save % record, so lets sit back and enjoy what he is giving us! Rask tonight, i hope we actually give him some goal support? Lets go B’s!

  31. Bruins says:

Only on this site could there be a massive argument about our goalie who has record-setting numbers.

  32. mook says:

i met timmy in vancouver during the olympics. i was wearing a canada jersey, with a bruins shirt under. i took the jersey off for the photo, and he and his friends laughed their asses off.

the rest of the night he bought the booze, and we all got loaded.

i don’t use the word “hero” often, but tim thomas is a HERO.

    • #4 says:

haha I wish I had a story like that.

    • Jefe77 says:

I remember you mentioning drinking Stellas with Timmy in Vancouver; I bet that boy can drink….

      • lucic crew says:

Your right jeff77 thats the passion of bs fans, thats why were the best. Anyway tuke gets the start tonight lets go boys go bssssssssssss.

    • pearson says:

ew. stella? most over rated beer. i always though thomas was the type of guy that would pound guinness’ and then yoga it all out the next day.

still a badass story though. you lucky bitch.

  33. ELWOPPO says:

I wouldnt complain if he left! Btw where’s my buddy mcpuck? Did he jump ship? WHERE ARE U MY BROTHA?

  34. ELWOPPO says:

Ference in, Mcquad sits! Dont know if I like this move! Mcquad is pretty solid back thier plus he throws them! I got no complaint’s about his game!

    • moast says:

I guess McQuaid is a little bit beat up and bruised. Not sure if this matters for a night or two. I truley do feel like a trade is coming soon in regards to moving someone on D.
I am hoping it is Stuart….love the guy but who else goes…..maybe Ference but he is playing well.

Our good buddy EK is saying to watch LA and Bos today…… you know what that means right?
      Absolutly nothing.

If they are to move a dman what does everyone think they should do?

      Stuart, Ryder, BOS 1st

    • Bruins says:

I think Stuart walks next year, and McQuaid relaces him.

      • #4 says:

Hate to say it but for a 1st round pick Stuart is a marginal bust when you consider Bergy/Lucic were drafted in the 2nd round.

Oh well…. Least he turned out much better than Hamill lol.

      • Bruins says:

Bruins consistently draft unbelievably in the second round and average at best in the first.

      • Bruins says:

Actually check that. We’re terrible drafting in the first round lol

      • #4 says:

        * 1999: Nick Boynton (21st overall)
        * 2000: Lars Jonsson (seventh overall) & Martin Samuelsson (27th overall)
        * 2001: Shaone Morrisonn (19th overall)
        * 2002: Hannu Toivonen (29th overall)
        * 2003: Mark Stuart (21st overall)
        * 2004: None
        * 2005: Matt Lashoff (22nd overall)
        * 2006: Phil Kessel (fifth overall)
        * 2007: Zach Hamill (eighth overall)
        * 2008: Joe Colborne (16th overall)
        * 2009: Jordan Caron (25th overall)
        * 2010: Tyler Seguin (2nd overall)

OUCH! Only ones at all promising are Caron/Seguin none of the rest except Stuart and that Physical beast Hamil are even in the system.

And now were trying to get rid of Stuart lol. 2/11 is bad drafting Real Bad in the first round.

      • moast says:

That is some real bad 1st round picks…..its nice to see solid in the last two years…..hopefully this trend continues!

      • Haus says:

Don’t give up on Colborne. Its his 1st year as a pro.

    • Jefe77 says:

I agree, at this point I would play McQuaid over Ferrence, and probably Kampfer as well.

Ferrence needs to shore up on simplifying his game. He’d been recently guilty of carrying the puck too much out of his zone, and dumping the puck to his own blueline on failed clear attempts from behind the goal line.

Andy, your not fn Ray Bourque! Simplify, damnit.

  35. lucic crew says:

Awww isn’t that cute the bell is sticking up for his friends. See if you knew how to read you would see elwoppo and i were defending not bitching you fucken dummy. And dont even get me started on true fans ,you come on here once a month to tell people off, i bleed black and gold mother fucker dont you forget that. I could give a damn what people think about me, i come on here to show my love for the bs and thats it. So fuck you, fuck willy, fuck pearson and if you want to be down with them then fuck you too. Oh yeah FAGGOT!!!!!!!

    • #4 says:

Dude this site is meant for discussions and usually those are driven by differing opinions. Willis and Pearson have been here a while and are solid posters. Even if we dont always agree we dont act like this.

    • willisss says:

Dude we’re here to talk bruins, not measure our dicks..drink a beer, calm it down, and wecan try again

      • lucic crew says:

Like i said will i respect opinions even if dont agree with them. And you do make some good points. So i apologise for that out burst but that fucken bell boils my blood.

    • pearson says:

i think this is what people your age say “lol” to.

im barely sure where this start so fuck bro, just drop it.

      go thomas!?

  36. lucic crew says:

You know what 4 you got a point. Willy and person are saying their opinions fair enough its that bell stupid shit comes out his mouth.

    • lucic crew says:

    • moast says:

      I second that!

    • BosBrn77 says:

You know lucic crew…… anyone with “lucic
” in their name… can spout off all they want!

This is what I like about this site….. no matter how much we disagree with each other’s opinions….. let El But Man show up and we all have each pther’s back! Bottom line, we are here for the Bruins.

I know I don’t post as much as I used to, but please do not put me in the category of “fair weathered” or “bandwagon” fan! I have bled black and gold since I was a child! Good or bad…. I live and die by this team! Pardon my choice of words… but fuck the Pats, Celtics or Red Sox…. it’s the Bruins… or get off the highway!

  37. ELWOPPO says:

  38. mook says:

hey, take it easy with the tupac quotes.

  39. ELWOPPO says:

Sturm placed on IR today! Knee again! Wow! Guess Chia seen something!! This guys done! Poor bastered has no luck!

  40. ELWOPPO says:

Yup, just out of curiosity, what nationality is everyone here? Me and Luciccrew are Italian!

  41. willisss says:

    Suomi hyvää iltää

  42. Gcole says:

Horton needs to stop being a bitch and play harder. Looks scared or something

  43. Bruins says:

Tht’s probably the last German accent we’ll hear from Jack.

  44. Haus says:

Slick feed by Wheels on that goal

  45. spencer says:

hortons playing his heart out. when the bruins skate, as they have the past 12 games, they are in every game, and if clicking on all cylinders are definetely a stanley cup contender. what is wrong with looch. hes my man, and have been a fan since day #1 but he doesnt drop the gloves and doesnt hit. even for those who argue hes too valuable to fight (bullshit, he gets the whole team and crowd going and involves himself in the game), when he doesnt hit, his value goes wayyyy down. go b’s

  46. dookie says:

The sabres are skating circles around the Bruins after 2. The B’s are not in the game emotionally and need to ratchet it up in the 3rd and dictate the state of play. Next goal is crucial. With this being the B’s game in hand, the B’s need to take control and take points from this one. I’m sick & tired of the sloppy play every time Tuukka plays.

  47. #4 says:

Guys im Irish and Swedish. Please draft Landeskog or Larsson this year Bruins Swedes are nasty.

But oh WTF Horton ive never seen something more frustrating. Its like a joke how the puck wont go in the net and ten he makes 2 awful plays leading goals ugh. Talk about a slump.

  48. #4 says:

Chara vs Gerbe ahhaha walk away son walk away.

  49. pearson says:

im getting the sinking feeling that miller is just going to absolutely steal this game towards the end… i really hope im wrong.

  50. gibbz says:

seguin would be more productive if he stopped on the puck. he skates by after he loses it, he should be pressuring to get it back.

  51. #4 says:

Does anyone else have a fiery burning hate for Steve montador?

  52. Bruins says:

This team really plays to the level of it’ competition. They should have a way better record against this shitty division, yet they routinely beat the best teams in the league.

  53. ELWOPPO says:

Cant win em all! Missed chances and UGLY vanek was the diferece! Good luck on Sat againts COL, gonna be tuff!

  54. moast says:

Horton, Lucic, Krejci….O’ how I miss these guys.
When there on there game they are tops in the league….they are always preaching concistency… do they acheive consistency?

After tonight, I agree with some people:
-Someone needs to piss in Looch’s CornFlakes as he is not as aggrsive as he has been and is sorely missed
-Not enough net front presence….need all of these big bodies in front of Miller
-Horton needs to shoot any time that puck touches his stick
-Wheeler is looking pretty damn good these days especially on the fourth

  55. Caperfan says:

Power play sucks again tonight and its the difference in close games. Just think how many points the B’s would have if they had a power play? need a puck moving defenceman at trade deadline. Anothe scorer like “Moulson” would be a nice fit.

  56. lucic crew says:

Oh well boys cant win them all. Horton get well soon, cause you look like have the flu for the last month.

    • moast says:

Lets hope….I feel bad for the guy.
All the chances, shots, nice feeds and couldn’t buy one.
Can’t win em all is right!
      Fucking destroy the West!!

  57. moast says:

Im so torn….some games I watch these guys and think fuck, if the could play like this most of the time there is no need for a change.
hen the other times, I do see the minimal holes that they have, every team has them, and think that they do need a consistent goal scorer to top off the depth and a #2 PP quarterback defensman.
Not sure there is much to do out there?

    Shits and giggles:
    Ryder, TO’s 1st, Stuart

      Pipe dream I know!
Speaking of pipes….time to smoke a bowl to celebrate? Wait, just time to smoke a bowl!

      • lucic crew says:

        good idea

      • #4 says:

Time to go Shovel then go to work ugh. At least you guys are more sensible over here. Go read some comments at the bruins forum and tell me if you dont vomit in your mouth. talk about bandwagonners.

I was praying that they would give the Siedenberg goal to Horton. He just needs one to get that mental block out of his way I think.

Oh and Someone please run Lucic at practice he is like a big teddy bear out there now. He needs to play with that anger that turned him into a force his rookie year.

  58. #4 says:

    Shits and giggles:
    Ryder, TO’s 1st, Stuart
    Jack Johnson

    Huge overpayment.

    Wheeler, Stuart

Id be interested but its the money is almost an exact wash but I have doubts that Burke will talk to PC again. Without wanting back that #1 pick.

    • moast says:

It is an overpayment but, Stuart is gone regardless, in my opinion. Ryder is gone at the end of the season and it would free up a bit of cash. The 1st from TO is the overpayment which might be able to be swapped to BOS 1st….I would definately give up a 1st for Johnson.
      Is a pipe dream though!

    • lucic crew says:

4 i went to boston. com bruins forum, wow thats all im going to say.

  59. moast says:

Here is a question….I remember reading an article at the begining of the year, when Lucic Krejci Horton were the first line and it went on to quote Krejci.
I know I don’t have the link to it but it was to the effect that Krejci said that Savard will have to take the first line from him as he isn’t going to just give it back to him. I remeber reading this and thinking right on, nice to see Krejci with some passion.
Now, my thoughts right now are maybe that he is somewhat pouting that he isn’t on the top line and is bitter because they aren’t producing the way that he was with Lucic and Horton.
    Any thoughts on this?
I mean its pretty childish to pout in a grown mans sport but egos are egos.
It could also be rubbing off on Lucic who stated, I need to get back to my roots and keep it simple. He isn’t hitting, scoring, fighting and has no passion…..4 million should get you at least on of those.
I love Lucic and Krejci as much as anyone thats on here but fuck me are they non-existent and passionless.
Everyone on here will agree with me that the Bruins are on top off there game when there is emotion sparked from effort, hits, and fights.

  60. Jefe77 says:

Lucic seems to be nursing a shoulder injury, or some other ‘upper body’ injury. He is literally skating away from hits right now.

The thing is, I would rather have him in the lineup regardless. He needs to get healthy and hit again, but has also proven he is starting to pick up point production.

  61. cebbie says:

It looks to me like Krejci does have his shit in a knot since Savard returned – Given the choice, both playing 100% who would you want for a play off run – Krejci or Savard? Maybe one has to go

    • moast says:

I think there is something to this as I have heard that there may be locker room issues with Savvy but maybe its just between Krejci and Savvy… far as who I would trade if i had to, I would probably trade savvy to Ottawa for a dman.

    • pearson says:

savard if they wanna win this year. in the long run obviously krejci.

krejci tradeable though, im not hoping he is, or saying he will, but it seems as if they could deal without him at some times..(?)

      • moast says:

It’s so weird how they will have someone injured and they play better without that person. I personnaly dont want either traded but in the grand scheme of things:
Something will have to give especially if there is an issure with ones attitude in the dressing room.
All speculation…..savard to Ottawa, in my opinion would be the only real logical move. Savvy would help them as the Sens suck balls and its a team he would go to.
In return Im sure we could send Stuart with him and get a good return.

      • UEDkop says:

I haven’t looked at the cap-side of this thought – and it is just a thought – but how in love is Ottawa with Gonchar right now? He seems to have spectacularly disappointed them and he is the man on the PP that so many of you guys believe we need.

        Savard, Stuart

        Play with that.

      • #4 says:

        Playing Moast here.

But Savrd+Stuart/Ference for Regehr+Tanguay anyone think it would work or OTT would entertain it??

Adds a fast winger who can score and a rocksolid #2 guy to play with chara.

      • #4 says:

I meant CAL and No thanks on Gonchar time for him to go to the KHL guy is useless give me Kaberle over Gonchar anyday.

      • moast says:

#4 I have thought this for a while, about Regehr…..not sure about Tanguay but man Regehr would be nice

Now for my time to play Moast:
        Savard, Stuart, BOS 1st
        Regehr, Bourque

      • #4 says:

        Total Cap change is
        Tanguay 1.7
        Regehr 4.05
        CAL 5.75 out.

        Savard 4.07
        Ference 2.2 or Stuart 1.675
        BOS 6.27 or 5.675 OUT

        The money works.

Rene is 3.33 Mil the money doesnt work there. Tanguay is a Sturm Clone fast scoring winger scored 20+ 5years straight.

  62. #4 says:

    I forgot Ryder woops!

    • moast says:

Lucic Krejci Horton (Needs to be reunited)
      Marchand Bergeron Tanguay (Deadly)
      Wheeler Seguin Ryder (Offensive 3rd)
Thornton Campbell Recchi (Alot better than any 4th)

      Chara Regehr (Salivation!)
      Kampfer Seidenberg (PM and deadly)
      Ference Boychuk (Super Solid)
      McQuaid (Rotate w/Ference for toughness)

This lineup is what is needed, or something like this, is what is needed. The top line needs to be like this…..Horton was way better with Krejci and so was Lucic.
      Get it done PC!!!

  63. mook says:

you guys are proposing a change that will completely make the look of the bruins different. you know we’re in first place, right?

    • #4 says:

I dont really think 2 players changes the look of the whole team. Last I checked Savard was out for most of the 1st half one of Stuart/Ference is always injured.

Dont see this completely changing anything mook. Tanguay very similar to Sturm as well so uhh its not that different.

    • moast says:

It will make the team look better in my opinion and thats all it is is an opinion. after hearing Recchi call out the team this morning for not showing up and giving it all, I am having feelings about something going on in the dressing room. I know it is only speculation but really it seems pretty obvious. This idea would do is get rid of Savard and Stuart. Stuart is easily replacable, I do like him though, and Savard who may/or may not be the old Savvy and with the log jam of centres, his cap hit and age, he should be the first to go.
First place is a gross overstatement. The west is stronger than the east and the Bruins are first in the weakest division in the East. Not only that, sure they are third in the east and only a week of “no show hockey” away from being 7th and fighting for a spot.

I like the potential of this team but something does need to happen because if it doesn’t and this is the team that rolls into the playoffs, I can’t see them past the second round again.
I know they have been playing great lately but the no show games keep popping up here and there.
This trade idea, all it is is an idea, isn’t blowing the team up, its just solidifying the D and swapping some role players.

I truley beleive that even if this trade doesn’t happen, you still need to make the lines as follows and keep them that way no matter what!

      Lucic Krejci Horton
      Marchand Bergeron Recchi
      Seguin Savard Ryder
      Thornton Campbell Wheeler

      • moast says:

I really hope I dont get slayyed for panicking over one loss. Im not panicking and I do think that this team is very good, but a tweak or two will make them great!

  64. Bruins says:

We’re a top team in the league with most of our best players in a slump. No changes!

    • #4 says:

Yeah this is true but the team does tend to ride on Thomas’s coat tails. They must give up some of the most shots in the league. I think a true top2 dman would help that alot. Esp one with Regehr’s size/veteranship/shut down capability. Basicly like an improved Stuart.

I was just doing some research today and the team is only 3-7 vs teams in the Northeast thats not exactly good. Im not overreacting to this loss or demanding this trade happens.

I just like the Regehr and Tanguay I think they would be a good fit here.

    • moast says:

8th in the league is pretty damn good…..we were just speculating if there were a trade, what would/should it look like.

  65. moast says:

Again its Ek……saying Bruins and Hawks…..
Another source says the move would “be more minor with the Bruins, but again be a 1 for 2 deal

Wny thoughts….they have Seabrook, Keith, Hjalmarsson, Campbell, Boynton
they are looking for a top 6 forward and a young D.

    Wheeler & Stuart/Boychuk for?

  66. willisss says:

we get to see our old friend matt hunwick tomorrow…i was a fan

  67. backbruin says:

Why are we trading Savard?? have we not noticed the room he gives us on the power play of late??? the guy is just starting to get his shit together?? trading him would be a big mistake!!! Savy won’t be going anywhere boys. Not sure who has missed the the above fact but it’s very easy to see how much more confident they look….Now when he first came back they looked a little discombobulated but they are starting to go now!!

I’m going to start the “don’t put savy in anymore trade rumors on this site club” anyone can join!!

    • pearson says:

im with ya. the guy can create a pass out of no where and set up someone in a heartbeat. krecji slows the play down and works it more methodical, bergeron bangs for the puck and uses his defense to score/assist. savard in necessary. hes signed for awhile at a discount, and brings a game that no one else on the team has

      • Manitoba Fan says:

I am definetly with the two of you on this topic. I say we stop talking about trading anybody on this team. I completely think they look good right now, and i really like the line combinations. The team looks fuckin good when they are on their game, they just don’t stay consistent enough. Making a trade right now makes no sense to me, IMO. Savard has been getting bettter game by game and looks like he is coming back to form.

  68. ELWOPPO says:

We better Fucken win today, those french faggots play again tonite and could steal our spot with another win!

  69. BosBrn77 says:

OK, don’t bash me on this guys, but I do think this team needs a bit of a tweaking. Nothing huge, but make a move to improve the team and keep the chemistry. I’ll give it to Montreal… which hardly ever happens…. but they STOLE Wisniewski! He has turned out pretty good for them.

But as it was posted above, Chicago is looking to make a move and shake up their lineup. Not just dumbass Ek is saying it, but other sites have said similar. I’d love to see PC try and get Seabrook.

    To Bos:
    Brent Seabrook

    To Chi:
    Blake Wheeler
    Mark Stuart
Bos 2nd rd pick in 2011

That would definitely give Boston the number 2 d-man they have been looking for.

  70. ELWOPPO says:

pretty good defenceman but i think ur offer is a little too steep? (for a guy who’s career high is 32 points)

    • pearson says:

not sure it is. wheeler and stuart are both free agents after the year. the pick could end up being towards the end of the 2nd. wheeler is expendable, and highly coveted. stuart is still young, cheap, and can bang with the best of em (no homo?)

      seabrook is 25…

this is actually one of the best trade ideas ive seen here in a long time. good for you, haha

    • BosBrn77 says:

I know what you are saying ELWOPPO, but you have to give to get. We think a lot higher about our players then other fans do. Seabrook is not only still young, but he is a big kid, plays the puck tough, can move the puck well, and doesn’t take stupid penalties.

Will Stuart EVER be a top two d-man? Seabrook already is, on a team with two other top notch d-men (Keith and Campbell) He is a RFA and will possibly cost around 4 mil a year to keep. But with losing Ryder next year, that makes up for it AND allows us cap relief.

Wheeler is hot and cold. But he could play on the second line for Chicago.

The second round pick would be a bonus. Maybe ask for a third rounder in return?

      • Haus says:

        I like the proposal but…….

Savard is not going anywhere. Let’s face it: the league and the Bruins are still waiting and watching to see if he is the Savvy of old. The signals have been positive lately but can he handle a big hit? Noone, not on this site, the league, or even the Bruins training staff know. If you are a GM from another team do you take on an investment for 6 years with questions of durability? Hopefully he will be fine and prove a bargain for the Bruins but for these questions immediately kills all Savard trade talk.

      • Whopperfoo says:

savard has already taken 2 big hits against the glass/boards that I’ve seen and has been fine.

      • Haus says:

Would you sign him for 6 years today Whopperfoo? Do you get nervous everytime he takes a hit? Would a head shot end his career?

  71. Bruins1 says:

I know we can’t win them all, so the boys are playing pretty well. However, i still think we should get rid of Savard. Ever since his return, Krecji is no where to be found. Krecji is our best skilled centerman and we need him back. Remember the playoffs? Send savard to Ottawa or Toronto and get it over with already. What u think?

    • Haus says:

Read what I posted above, that should give you some insight. Don’t get me wrong, in a sense I understand what you are saying but if you are Ottawa why would you do it?

  72. BosBrn77 says:

The Islanders claimed Nabokov off of waivers from Detroit!

    • pearson says:

no suprise there. dipeitro has been dealing with sickness and injuries ever since they traded roloson to TB for nothing. they also traded wisniewski for virtually nothing when they are hemoraging at the DLine. fuck, maybe we can grab okposo for nothing too!?

id be interested to see what other teams put claims on him. hes a decent goalie, and he comes at a ridiculously low price tag.

  73. Haus says:

Back to 3 goalies for the Isles. They probably claimed him so they can trade him, get some picks for nothing. Dipietro handcuffs that team so bad…

    • moast says:

I think you cant trade someone that you claim off of waivers……fucking Dipietro is a joke and the onlyone who is laughing is him….all the way to the bank!

  74. moast says:

I just saw these stats and didn’t realize it was this drastic. Lucic isn’t the same old Lucic

    2007-2008 – 13 fights
    2008-2009 – 10 fights
    2009-2010 – 4 fights (injury year)
    2010-2011 – 2 fights

    2007-2008 181 Hits (21st)
    2008-2009 262 Hits (6th)
    2009-2010 141 Hits (81st) (injury year)
    2010-2011 105 Hits (36th)

I know stats aren’t everything and he is having an amazing offensive year but, he keeps claiming that he wants to get back to his roots but we aren’t seeing it. I know people would sacrifice his physical edge for offensive production, but I really feel that if he went back to his roots, truley went back to his roots and kept his feet moving that everyone would benefit, not just him. His hits aren’t too bad this year but we all know how the game ends up when Luuuuuuuuccccccchhhhhhhhh!!!! is hitting, fighting and intimidating people! This is the Big Bad Bruins that are hard to play against and should intimidate the hell out of the league!
