Zach Hamill recalled from Providence

Zach Hamill has been recalled from Providence following the Bruins 6-3 victory over the Dallas Stars.  Hamill will most likely skate on the third line pushing Wheeler back to the wing. Wheeler won just 25% (4 of 16) of the faceoffs he took against Dallas. With the recall of Hamill, the Bruins may also feel Daniel Paille will be suspended for his hit in the second period on Dallas forward Raymand Swada.

oh thats suspension for sure dirty hit danny.

  2. zamer says:

This is bruins showcase on Hamill, for maybe a trade because they say Arniel is playing great on the farm and those are the guys you keep. This would be my only trade Id love as abruin fan.TO 1 and 2 hamill, stuart, for evander kane he would be perfect to take over for recchi next year.

    • Haus says:

Wow that’s alot for Kane. Right now, Evander is out indefinetly with concussion issues. But in the bigger picture, he along with Byfuglien, Stewart, and Oduya are part of a huge marketing push to ATL’s Black community that they just rolled out. He is a huge part of their future, I just don’t see him leaving.

      • Bruins says:

I don’t think that’s near enough for Kane. But yeah, he’s not going anywhere.

And are you talking about that CNN story? My god that was embarassing. Black people play hockey? Wow! You could tell the interviewer was trying to stir things up when she was asking them if they were ever told not to play hockey growing up, and they were all just like “Uhhh no.”

      • Haus says:

To be honest, I hope the campaign works. Black kids can see these guys play and say to themselves ‘ I can play too’. I have quite a few friends from many races (my wife included), many of them weren’t into hockey until me and others in my circle got them interested. Diversity amongst the fanbase with create diversity amongst the league itself. This would mean a larger talent pool, especially here in the US. And unlike what Plaschke said, all these guys are legit and above players that would be coveted by other teams. He made it out as though these guys were taking jobs away from more talented white players, like some affirmative action plan run by ATL.

      • backbruin says:

That is way too much for Evander Kane wayyyyy tooooo much…the kid is good but not that good!!! he’s not the guy we need!!

      • Bruins says:

I welcome more black players playing, I just had a problem with how the interview was conducted. I mean “Breaking Barriers” stamped on the screen and the interviewer was fishing for controversy about them having their love for hockey repressed by their community… It was just so stupid. If this was conducted in the 1950s with Willie O’Ree then it would have been fine, but this is 2011 for God’s sake.

The point is that it isn’t a big deal that black people are playing, you see more and more every year. They should stop trying to make it such a big deal that it’s happening, because it really isn’t.

      • Haus says:

You are absolutely correct. I didn’t see the CNN piece, but I can only imagine. I swear the same people that preach tolerance to the rest of us are the real racists.

  3. seguin>hall says:

Who knows, maybe zach will step up!

  4. Bruins says:

I like this. Maybe it will even jump start him more. I still like Caron and Arniel more for right now, but I’m cool with this if it’s for a short stint. Maybe he’ll impress.

  5. ELWOPPO says:

Paille was just starting to play well too! I dont agree with this Hamel call up! Demoting Wheeler to 4th line is a mistake! Maybe im wrong, We see on Sat.

    • Haus says:

Somebody has to be called up, if having him at 3rd line center doesn’t work, down he’ll go and a winger will be recalled, maybe Caron or Reich depending on how they want to make up the lines. Anyway, if Savard is shelved for the year a trade will probably occur, less than 4 weeks to deadline day.

    • lucic crew says:

Agreed and haus yeah that is to much.

  6. seguin>hall says:

On another note.. How good is marchand? He’s quickly becoming my favorite bruin

  7. pearson says:

how bout we set some guidlines for hamill? before he gets ripped to shreds. hes got 10 games before the deadline.

-SJ, MON, DET twice, TOR, NYI, OTT, CAL VAN, EDM.

so some good teams, some awful. hes likely going to play with seguin and ryder. not sure how i like that pairing, butttt…

whats a good amount of points to expect from him? 1 goal, 5 assists seems to be reasonable to me.

    • #4 says:

This is just a showcase so ideally he gets 6-7 pts. Shows upside.

I mean with Krejci, Bergeron, Seguin, Colbourn, Campbell all in the system where does Hamil fit in?

He and Stuart obviously on the trade block.

  8. Pete says:

Hamil is on the block. This is their chance to announce it and show his skills. He doesn’t fit our system but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t fit another. Putting Savard on the shelf will free up some space to bring in a scoring winger for a Cup run. My 2 cents.

  9. BosBrn77 says:

    Paille gets 4 games!

  10. willisss says:

This is a showcase for sure

  11. Gcole says:

Atleast it’s only paille that’s suspended. Il take that one over anyone else.

  12. moast says:

I don’t think that it could have happened any better in my opinion. Like Gcole says, it’s only Paille. I know he has been playing good but he still is what he is.
Hamil is getting showcased and with Stuart scratched iys blatenly obvious……any speculation on what wold be the best return?

Stuart, Hamil, Bos 1st, Bos 2nd
    for?
Im thinking something with Edmonton or LA….not sure why but could see it.
Simmonds would be nice….not cap wise but.

    • moast says:

LA: Stuart, Hamil, Bos 1st, Bos 2nd
      Bos: Simmonds & Hickey

      Lucic Krejci Horton
      Marchand Bergeron Recchi
      Ryder Seguin Simmonds
      Wheeler Campbell Thornton
      Paille

      Next Year:

      Lucic Krejci ( )
      Marchand Bergeron Horton
      Simmonds Seguin Caron
      (Madden) Campbell Thornton

      Chara (Yandle)
      Seidenberg Kampfer
      Boychuk Ference
      McQuaid

Assuming: – we can trade for yandle and simmonds
      – Savvy calls it quits
      – Not sure where the TO 1st fits

      • bruins2010 says:

Y would we trade all that for simmonds he’s done nothing all year. If you want to make a trade with LA go for someone who can make a difference like kopitar or brown. Even tho they will never trade Dustin

  13. willisss says:

Stuart, hamill, 1 and 2 pick is a tall order….real tall

  14. mook says:

I had to watch the game with the Dallas announcers. They were saying that Seguin needs to spend time in Providence (how many things are wrong with that…) and about 10 seconds after they said it…Seguin makes it 5-3.

  15. jimmy50 says:

Why isn’t there a poll on what to think without Paille in the lineup

    A. Don’t Care
    B. Makes the Bruins better
    C. Really don’t care
    D. Danny who?

  16. ELWOPPO says:

Burish placed on IR with facial injury after that overhand right ference delivered! Also 2 other dallas players injured in fights last night! SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN U UPSET THE BRUINS, PAIN LOTS OF PAIN! WE BRANG THE RUCKUS LAST NIGHT! WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE DALLAS, THANKS FOR COMMING OUT!

  17. Bruins says:

They said injuries played a role in determining Paille’s suspension. Meanwhile Savard is sitting at home with all his concussion issues from the Cooke hit. What a slap in the face.

  18. zamer says:

It was a good call on paille, even though he probably was just wanted to shoulder to shoulder contact but the dallas player has his head down and thats why they called it.

  19. moast says:

I think that with all the trade speculation and the deadline around the corner, coupled with the fact that it was a chippy, somewhat pre-meditated aggresive game, ol’ Danny was just trying to put his stamp on it and try and prove he belongs.
In the end, he crossed the line and should know better but it the same sence, kepp your head up kid as Cherry would say.
Good decision for Ference to call out his teamate especially when it hits home, its the only way that it will curb these hits along with longer and more consistent suspensions. Leave it to a guy like Ference who has always used hockey as an oulet for change.
Zach Hamill up is a great thing. Not only does it give him his best/last chance to make a statement, but it will also push Caron that much harder when he finally gets his chance again…..especially with Marchands play. I truley beleive Chia has something interestingly sneaky up his sleeve. It wont be anything crazy but it will make nothing but sence….here’s to hoping!
