    agreed moast

well its was fun while it lasted, good season boys

  3. UEDkop says:

After all our scoring troubles last year, is anyone else as ecstatic as I am with being third in goal-scoring in the Conference?

Who do we think this is attributed to? Bergeron? Lucic? A more solid D-corps? Timmy?

It’s hard to imagine this team getting much better, but with a move potentially on the way (unfortunately with Savard out of the picture)… damn. If Philly/Pitts loses any steam, I can see the B’s in first.

    • Haus says:

I am also happy with the teams goal scoring thus far. I think it can be attributed to depth. Look at the stats and it shows nobody is really tearing it up, but alot of guys looking at 50-60 pts projection.

  4. Gcole says:

I’ve always proposed that with cheapshot hits and dirty hits in general that knock a player out of the lineup, the guy that did it to you should be suspended for the same amount of time the player he hurts misses. Make sense to you? Completely fair to me, whatever damage you dealt out, you also get reflected back at you

  5. Haus says:

You know what I really would like to see stop? This one is mainly for those of us in the Boston area, you guys in Canada are lucky you don’t hear this ’cause it would drive you crazy.
Idiot sports reporters and casual fans ripping the teams’ consistency when they are winning 2 of 3 or 3 of 4 a week. In a world of parity, it doesn’t get much better than that.

    • UEDkop says:

People only ever see the losses. You KNOW that when the B’s win the Cup every one of those people are going to be applauding them for their consistency and being solid all year long.

On the other side of the coin, I think it’s because we live in such a storied, legendary, amazing sports city and everyone has a high standard. If you’re not champion, you’re not Boston. When all the other teams around the Bruins have won a title in recent years and the B’s have nothing to show for decades I can see why these people might be frustrated and biased.

Yes, it’s true that they are overlooking the Bruins’ accomplishments, but only because being a consistently good team in the regular season never brought a city any pride. Look at SJ: one of the best teams in the West since the lockout and no cup (hell, no playoff SUCCESS. The best playoff moment SJ has been a part of was Boyle putting one in his own net).

Class act by Ferrence in speaking to the Paille hit. Tell it like it is regardless if it is your team mate or not.

Shame it cannot be said of the NHL’s shining centrepiece – Cindy. Not a word was spoken by him when Cooke blinsided Savard. Even if it was within the so-called rules at that time – it was not right and Cindy knew it at that time and he knows it now. But still he stays silent.

I’m all for supporting your team mates and standing up for one another; but there is a time when you must acknowledge that your team mate was wrong and irresponsible to cross the line. Only then does the true character of a person and team shine through.

I’ve reviewed the Richards-Booth and Cooke-Savard hits countless times and in no way shape or form can such hits compare to the ‘minor’ tagging suffered by Cindy. The Steckel hit was not a blindside by Steckel in any stretch of the imagination. Crosby turned into him and an argument can be made that Cindy actually blindsided him. Steckel braced for the hit and if you look closely, tried to avoid contact. The Hedman hit was a hockey play that’s all – it’s called finishing your check. Besides that, the hit was not violent and happens every day to every day grunts with no complaining or whining.

Funny how Cindy believes that the Steckel hit and the follow-up hit by Hedman of Tampa Bay was dirty, yet he still remains silent and by doing so supports Cooke. His true character is now known to all – he has no room in his soul or conscience for anyone but himself. Do unto others as they would do unto you has no meaning for Cindy.

I wish him well – he is good for the game and the NHL. Being the NHL’s crown jewel, he needs to take a stand against all such hits, including the Cooke hit now. He is looked up to by current players and those young impressionable players striving to make it to the pros. His silence now though is deafening. Stand up Cindy and show some Ferrence class by championing the cause. It may not save the career of Savard, yet it may save the career of many others and the league from itself.

i fucking hate crosby. but shit, some of the things people rag on him for is just retarded. what would make you happy? sid to hold a press conference and say something along the lines of “i dont support hits to the head, no matter who throws them, including my teammate matt.” and the whole NHL to go “ohhhhhh, i respect that! and he’s right, we cant be doing that. what a great role model” its like blaming super mario for what happened to neeley.

i hate what happened to savard but hes not the first player to recieve a cheap shot. thats the nature of this game. its for big boys, not ballerinas. teams allow players to go out there and mash the shit out of star players. thats what i like about the game of hockey. unfortunately some people just get hit at the wrong angle with the wrong intentions and a split second can end someones career.

bout time you got over matt cooke though. as a hockey fan you should know that “the hockey gods” will take care of him, and he’ll get his one day.

      • #4 says:

Pearson I do kind of agree that Sid needed to be called a hippocrit. He tip toes around the issue completely when it happens to savard from his teammate.

Then when he gets hurt (by not a cheapshot) hes all about getting it out of the game and blah blah. Way to be a hipocrit crysby.

        Ference got that one right.

  7. UEDkop says:

I’m curious as to the image of Bergeron to fans from across the NHL. Yeah, he played on Team Canada. Yeah, he was January’s star of the month. But really, he still seems like an under-the-radar producer. Not that I’m complaining, we all know how valuable he is. I just sometimes wonder if people in St. Louis or Minnesota or Florida realize just how good he really is.

I’d like him to get some more recognition. Just a nomination for the Selke would be nice to see for him (tied for third in +/-… side note: Chara and Marchand have climbed up to the tie for second in +/- which is really impressive if you ask me), especially after how he’s come back after his concussion.

Of course, when all is said and done, I just hope that PC and CJ understand his value like we do.

    • pearson says:

i said it awhile ago when someone mentioned trading him. i doubt he’d be valueable around the league. he brings EVERY aspect of the game with him and he does it well. hes just not as sexy a player as someone thats gonna net you 40 and get you even more assists. hes valueable to this team because of the way julien runs shit. hes worth every penny of his 5+ mil salary, but on other teams, i dont know if he would be.

compareable player around the league: ryan kesler(?) great all around, puts up above average numbers, but doesnt neccesarily have that star attribute.

  8. Gcole says:

How come this team can NEVER fucking put together a good effort with te powerplay. Even in a game as great as last game they still can’t score one! Don’t get it..

    • moast says:

You beat me to it. How does this statement make sence….The Bruins are more of an offensve threat 5 on 5 than the powerplay. Fuck, if Horton and Seguin get going, along with the power play, they will be unstoppable, but as of right now, the powerplay is hard to watch.

  9. willisss says:

What’s up with christine sweeney’s neck?

    • #4 says:

Did you hear Barry laugh during that interview. That was classic me and my GF were laughing for like 20 mins at him.

Barry “at home with the kids?”
      Sweeney “Yeah”
      Barry “hahahahahahahahahahahaha”

      uh wot?

  10. willisss says:

    3 powerplays…0 shots….that’s fucking awesome

  11. Bruins says:

What a waste of time. That was the most boring game ever. I propose no more matinee games, they never go well.

  12. Haus says:

2 biggest keys to todays game: 0 for 4 PP and SJ won almost every faceoff all day.

  13. moast says:

After watching this painful display I am certain on what they need at the deadline.
They need a #2 Powerplay Specialist, Puck Moving defenceman.
If they were to have this, I feel that with a goal here and there on the powerplay, they will win a lot more games. This is pathetic to watch right now. They have better chances 5on5 or short handed….sad.

I still also feel that they need a gritty forward…..too many rookies and not enough from the “goal scorers”. C’mon Chia get it done!

  14. Manitoba Fan says:

Holy Fuck. That was a brutal boring ass game. Boys could not get anything going. Power play was FUCKIN BRUTAL, no quality scoring chances, IMO i really think timmy would like that goal back, was PRETTY WEAK. And our fourth line sucks with seguin on it. Send Hamill back and bring up Caron to play on the fourth.

  15. Bruins says:

Hamill already getting more playing time than Seguin, and was even out there in the last couple of minutes.

    • #4 says:

Hamil looked brutal. But you gotta understand they are taking a chance to showcase him so they will play him every situation to give him a fair shot.

  16. ELWOPPO says:

If Montreal beats the Rangers this afternoon im not watching hockey no more! Does this team midget team ever lose in regulation?

  17. Caperfan says:

I`ll say it again’ this team needs a puck moving quarter back deenseman on the point for the power play. In tight games like today against the Sharks nothing doin on the power play. Its going to be critical in the playoffs. Is anyone else noticing this very large gap?

  18. zamer says:

That was a boring game the bruins played, there was no players in front of the sharks net.I dont give a fuck what anybody says we need a good size winger with scoring touch and a defenceman that can carry a puck out of our zone.Fuck wideman screwde up at times but he was good quarterback.LETS KICK THE HABS ASS THERE LOGO LOOKS LIKE TOILRT SEAT.

  19. Birdman2403 says:

I agree 100% with Don Cherry ! Ference should have shut his yap ! This is the exact type of comment that splits a room.
I have never been a fan of Ference and this caps it off for me. Hopefully Neely agrees with me and Ference will be gone soon !

    • Haus says:

What evidence do you have that his comments divided the locker room? Everything I’ve heard not one player disagreed with him. Hell, Bergeron said much of the same thing, only he used ‘if’, saying he didn’t see it but from what he heard. Let’s face it, yeah we all love Don Cherry but he’s a fucking blowhard, 1/2 the shit that comes out of his mouth is asinine at best and said just to hear himself talk.

      • Birdman2403 says:

After today’s interviews looks like there may be some issues in the room ?? Probably not though…right Haus ??

      • Haus says:

I’ve been busy all day, where can I find these comments? What was said by whom?

      • Birdman2403 says:

They interviewd both Paille and Ference. It was shown on Hockey Night in Canada this afternoon on Habs game. Fernece said that everyhting was fine ( with a smerk, and was short with reporters)Also wasn’t happy with Cherry’s comments.
Paille hintd at the fact that more guys then him agreed with what Cherry said. It just had a tense feeling about it.
Look, all I’m saying is that things like this can SOMETIMES harm the room. I really hope not, and this will all blow over soon.
I guess we agree to disagree.

    • #4 says:

Let me see if im PC. Paiile doesnt like Ference. Ference is very well liked by all his teammates.

See ya PileDriver and not the other way around.

  20. Birdman2403 says:

I said the same thing before Don Cherry said it, so it really has nothing to do with him. The bottom line is you just don’t do that.
I agree the hit was worthy of a suspension, but you just dont hang a teammate out to dry like that. Talk all you want to him behind closed doors. Did you see Crosby call out Cooke ?? No, but I’m sure the discussion has come up there too now.
Paille is not a dirty player and sometimes things happen. That could have been the quote from teammates to show a little support.
Haus, you would disagree with anyhing that is said it seems.

    • Haus says:

Not sure how you arrive at the notion that I would disagree with everything said on here, pretty sure that if you archive it I’m at 70/30 seeing that this is an internet message board and a place to give differing opinions, not a place to mark a bunch of ‘dittos’. Anyways, its not important. The Ference comments were similar to the Crosby comments that many seem to have forgotten. As I recall, Crosby called for the NHL to review and clarify the ruling on hits to the head. He also said something along the lines of those hits not belonging in the game from the locker room immediately following. What I’m trying to say is, what Ference said was correct. If you are gonna bitch when it happens to you, you gotta man up and take responsibility when you do it. Ference had no influence on the leagues’ decision. But Ference is a dirty hippie and I hate his politics. Thankfully I can look past that and still see the great year he’s having.

  21. Bruins says:

Yeah Ference is a fag (in Michael Scott terminology), especially because those comments came before the hearing. I do not want this little hippie tree-hugger on the team.

    • #4 says:

Fuck it if your going to cry and cry about changing the rules about headshots, then someone on your team blatantly throws one. Acknowledge that and dont be a Crosby two faced bitch about it.

I respect that Ference had that to say, Did Guerin calling out Cooke tear apart the Pitts locker room? No.

It had to be done set a precedent no1 in the LEAGUE should support people who throws those hits regardless of team. Its about respect for the GAME and its PLAYERS not being a bitch like crosby and only crying when it happens to you.

Its not like he called Paille a dirty player just said it was bad hit. So what cant deal with that? GTFO Paille.

      • Haus says:

And I agree with you, sir. See Birdman? I do agree with people sometimes!

      • Bruins says:

Do not try to compare the Paille hit to the Cooke one. It’s not like the Paille one was overly dirty, he even circled around to get in front of the guy, and Sawada was playing with his head between his legs. Ference could have easily said “no comment” about this borderline hit, and instead had to go be a fag about it.

      • backbruin says:

I agree with ya #4, if that exact hit was on one of our players this site would be in an uproar!! let’s not be “those fans” and be too bias…it was dirty plain and simple, and making a comment like Ferrence doesn’t break up the room guys….there not a bunch of women whispering secrets in the corner!! it was a blind head shot hit that wasn’t as solid as cooke’s obviously but looked bad!!

  22. North B says:

Mike Milbury on CBC tonight, also called out Ference..

  23. #4 says:

Haus, I want to talk more about your Talk Radio point. But dont want the post to get lost back in the thread.

Its just absolutely awful. I almost pulled over on my way home from watching the game to call in and rip into the bandwaggoners and hosts. THEY KNOW NOTHING for the most part.

This one guy called in and said Mark Stuart played bad? REALLY GUY HE DID? WOW!

Another said CHARA SUCKS and they should trade him! Then he said Krejci,Horton,Siedenberg,Ference,Wheeler,Ryder,Stuart all needed to go because the team would be better without them. Then the usual Julien is an awful coach callers followed suite.

Just completely atrocious makes me ashamed to be a fan of teams in this city when IDIOTS like that make up a much larger % of the so called “fans” around here.

I was yelling at my Car Radio I dont know if that means I have problems or if I lov ethe B’s but fuck man people are stupid as shit when it comes to hockey around here. You can totally tell these were all the pinkhat sox and celts fans who heard about the sick game thursday. Got all pumped up to see this game(because they clearly were too stupid to see a good game on thursday.) Got this stinker which came on the heels of a 4-0 streak and then decided no wwas a good time to rip the team to shreds.

    • Haus says:

Haha fuck man my brother and I talk about it all the time. I’m sure it will again today. I mean, its the NHL, there’s parity, and SJ are no slouches. Niemi was huge yesterday and it happens. During the regular season, and the playoffs. The goal is to be consistent. Winning 2of3 or 3of4 week in/week out is pretty damn consistent. As for those that wanna see what happened with Dallas every game, well I got a movie called ‘Slapshot’ they can watch. Its fiction for crissakes nobody can fight all the time! The thing is, some of the people who call aren’t the pinkhats, and they get summarily dismissed when they call. I know because I’m one of many who have been cut off, with the mocking ‘WHOO!’ Soundclip. Fuck those callers, fuck those hosts(felger, gresh&zo,all of WEEI), and fuck anybody else who flaunts their hockey opinion when its obvious they can’t differentiate a Glutteus from a Humerus. All right, just got home and got a game at 3. I have to try to sleep. Thanks for getting me all fired up!!

    • willisss says:

Well in his defence, mark stuart didn’t have his best game…it was like he wasn’t even out there….

  24. seguin>hall says:

I think that caller might even be more aware of the game than I am.. I didn’t notice stuart out there once. We shouldn’t rip such an analytic fan.

I will say this.. I have a weekend/holiday 10 pack, and have been to six games thus far. 5 losses, 3 shutouts against. This says one of 2 things A) I’m a curse. B) this team has major let downs on saturday afternoons.

    • willisss says:

the way he was sitting in the players box was sub par at best…now marco sturm on the other hand really knew how to hold it down up there…AND WE TRADE TALENT LIKE THAT AWAY?!

      I’m done now…

  25. Bruins1 says:

Boy if you had a chocie, who would u rather want? A team like San Jose or Boston? The Sharks looked big out there and took the play to our smaller forwards. The sad thing is the Bruins were to be a bigger team, but boy the Sharks made them look smaller. Is it me or are the San Jose players really that big? I take the Shark team over Boston anytime. Watching Thornton yesterday, made me think how bad that trade was. He is a beast when he wants to be, and no way is only worth Stuart, Sturm and Primeau. NO WAY!!!

  26. Bruins1 says:

If Krecji doesn’t step up his game soon, I would be willing to trade him. He as well looks loss out there. LOve him last year, but want no part of his game this year. Im glad we don’t bash Ryder anymore either. His game as been by far one of the more better players this season. He gets his opportunities each game and you do notice him, inlike others on this team. KUDOs to the BERGERON line again, they prove they are a number 1 line. Lucic needs to show up and get his game back as well. When is his last big hit? anyone….anyone… crickets crickets…..

    • UEDkop says:

Krejci is doing fine right now. He’s got 5 points in the last 6 games and is +11 for the season. Yeah, he’s not the point-getting machine he was last year, but he’s also playing on a line with Horton-the-currently-impotent.

Ryder, on the other hand, is one of the only Bruins with a negative +/- (-5) and has 1 point in the last 8 games. Granted he too is playing on a pretty bad line right now (let’s face it: if we want to make a move it’s gotta effect the third line somehow. Either get a top six and let one of our current guys trickle down or get someone who can immediately boost that line) but he just doesn’t bring it the way Krejci does.

Yeah, he’s proven that he didn’t deserve all the heat he was getting, but I think saying he’s been better than Krejci is selling 46 short.

      • Bruins says:

Since the Oshie hit he just hasn’t looked good. It’s not about the points. I’m sure he’ll come around though.

  27. Bruins1 says:

Any way instead of Kaberle rumors, could we get jack Johnson? Any rumors?

Maybe a Stuart, Wheeler(I still like though), and a pick?

  28. moast says:

    BOS Antropov
    ATL Stuart

    BOS Kaberle
    TOR Wheeler & Bos 2nd

    Lucic Krejci Horton
    Marchand Bergeron Recchi
    Ryder Antropov Seguin
    Caron Campbell Thornton

    Chara Kaberle
    Seidenberg Kampfer
    Boychuk Ference

I like this scenario and think that it is deep enough to make a serious run. Antropov somewhat fills the void at centre while making that line pretty solid. Kaberle, as much as he is hated on here, would be a good fit. He works the PP which the B’s so desperately need help and he is also putting up good numbers on a shit team. There really isn’t much out there for dmen. Who would you rather have, Kaberle or, Gonchar, Phillips, Souray?
Making this happen wouldn’t take much and losing Wheeler to TO isn’t going to make them better especially when they are losing one of there best dmen. With two firsts at the draft as well as this roster subtracting big money……want to see this or something similar happen.

  29. hendrik says:

    niiiiice 1-0 devils already

  30. Bruins says:

Haha the Kessel trade is blowing up huge in Toronto:

  31. Vince_M says:

So, I wonder if Phil the Thrill is wants a trade out of Toronto or if management has him on the block?

  32. black n gold says:

Ference is a moron you never knock your own team mate publicly keep it behind close doors. I agree with Claude players that are getting hit like this should relies that this is a contract sport and should no if they do certain things such as go into the danger areas of the rink they should always keep your head up. ASK SCOTT STEVENS you look down cause you loss the puck in your feet your fair game !! Too many cry babies out there grow some balls people. Trade Ference no balls should be behind a desk plus hes always injured cry baby
