Injury Updates

Patrice Bergeron had a light skate prior to the Bruins regular team practice this morning.  Bergeron has had no set backs and continues to progress after suffering a concussion against the Flyers.  If all goes well Bergeron may be available for game 5.

Adam McQuaid will be in the lineup tonight after suffering a neck injury against the Flyers. McQuaid hurt his neck when he went all out to hit cheap-shot artist Mike Richards.  McQuaid will skate with Tomas Kaberle.

Steven Kampfer has begun light skating and is progressing in working his way back from a knee injury.  Kampfer has not been cleared to play but is expected to be ready sometime this series. Kampfer will most likely serve as the seventh defenseman over Shane Hnidy.

    Game 5?
I was hoping for a comeback in game 3 or 4! This is some bullshhhhhhit!

  2. Bruins says:

Where did you hear game 5? I heard he has to suffer no setbacks for 7 straight days. I’m sure he’s well into those 7 days by now.

Good to see McQuaid back. Julien had zero faith in Hnidy, what was he getting like 2 minutes a game?

  3. North B says:

Okay, lets get this fucking thing started!

  4. Gcole says:

Vinny lecavalier looks like a child molester with that kinda facial hair

  5. ELWOPPO says:

    LETS GO B’ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!

  6. lucic crew says:

    GOOOOOOOOOOOOO BSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. lucic crew says:

    WOW WHAT THE FUCK

  8. Haus says:

Who said this would be easy? It ain’t over yet.

  9. North B says:

    Thanks kid!!

  10. Gcole says:

Not gonna be easy. Let’s hope seguin keeps it up and plays

  11. lucic crew says:

Good for you Seguin beautiful goal.

  12. Marshmont says:

Is anyone else watching this on mute an listening to 98.5???

  13. Gcole says:

Krejci is being wayyyyy too cute tonight he needs to keep his fucking head up before someone lights him up!

  14. Marshmont says:

I want to throw another brick at Guy Boucher’s face.

  15. ELWOPPO says:

Tampa is waaaaay to good defensively! They just dont give you quality chances! Thier also great at blocking shots! Boston is cooked 2nite! Dont see a comeback here boys! I think we met our match! I hope in wrong?

  16. North B says:

Hey Julien, how about trying Seguin on the PP, you STUPID FUCKING ASSHOLE!

  17. Bruins says:

What a flukey minute and a half.

  18. Gcole says:

Seguin looks better than anyone and e gets five minutes of icetime through 2.. WTF

  19. Haus says:

TB owned the Bruins from the start. The only good scoring opportunity tonight Seguin put in the net.

    • backbruin says:

owned the bruins…..???? are we watching the same game? the first three goals were all garbage…we started fine let’s not read into this too much…tbay gave us ample plays to the front of the net and we missed the net as many times….i’m not worried we are better and will be fine….please let’s not read in to this too uch…. we will be fine…

and they showed bergy on cbc and he was skating just fine….game 5??? i doubt it

      • Bruins says:

        Agreed.

      • Haus says:

I called it in the 1st 5 minutes. The game was flowing exactly the way they wanted it. Take away the”flukey” 1:30 and the Bruins lose 2-1, cuz that second Bruins goal TB decided its not worth it to jump in front of the shooter in a laugher and the flukiness doesn’t happen without their well earned 1st goal.
All that being said I stick by my prediction of Bs in 6.

  20. lucic crew says:

    Bergy please.

  21. Bruins says:

The reason Clode was so upset at the end was because Seguin got two points.

  22. Gcole says:

never thought id say this but play seguin more!! he was awesome, as much as i never EVER thought he would be, he was the fastest bruin easily, and was throwing shots at the net, and even threw a big hit on someone, and he only got like 8 fucking minutes, where the hero michael ryder everyone loved against montreal? wheres that asshole now? i never liked him and still dont, he plays like two good game and disappears!!

  23. Caperfan says:

Bruins had a good start to this game and wanted the first goal but the sloppy play lead to three shitty goals which in effect the way Tampa Play’s game over. The Bruins have to get back to the way they played aganst Philly and be more physical score first as it changes the way tampa has to play. furthermore this game was way to friendly between competiotors and tampa would like to keep it that way which is not the Bruins style. The Bruin Have to get some momentum and put pressure on Tampa and start to dislike these dudes snd see how they respond. Tampa is on a role and need some adversity to see if it can change their game. Bruins can be way better and have to be. This fucking power play or lack thereof is going o getus in the end if things don’t change, its disgraceful and you need it to win. I am covinced the brusn can beat this team they have to start getting ugly. The first line last night for the most part invisible, defense shotty

  24. God is on OUR side!!!!!! says:

three words gents: TYLER FUCKING SEGUIN! god damn claude give the kid some ice time fuck sakes with 5 mins hes got a goal and an assist imagine what he could do with 13-15 mins he would be a game changer!

  25. Spencer70390 says:

seguin skated well last night, and the goal was a beautiful finish, but hes still a liability defensively, i agree not having him on the PP is redic, but i think claude is justified in slowly working him in 5-5.

Also, I agree kelley is a better fit with march/recchi, but i dont think its the best for the team b/c it leaves our 3 worst defensive forwards on the same line (seguin, pev, ryder). I would put peverley on that second line, and have kelley center ryder and seguin

  26. NSbruins says:

How can anyone play Ryder over Seguin? A 19 year old gets two points in his first playoff game. Play him. Its worth the risk.

With the exception of the 1.5 minute breakdown, the Bruins controlled the play. I would like to see puck possesion stats as well as shots on goal.

  27. Andy says:

    Observations :

    1. THis game was lost in that 90 second span. Two of the goals were soft, one was on Kaberle, and the other was kicked right onto their stick. TT has be better, although he was left to dry on more than one occasion and made the timely save

    2. B’s had sustained pressure in the O-zone and started the game well. TB doesn’t sustain pressure. They just look for an opening and throw the puck at the net. Have to buckle down defensively

    3. They have a D practically in the corner on the 1-3-1, assuming the winger will dump the puck on the same side. The answer to that is to softly dump the puck CROSS-CORNER and have guys flying in OR carry the puck in, spread out, and pass it as soon as you’re over the blue line

    4. TB is willing to do the little things to win. We just kind of stand there watching. We don’t slide to block shots. They do. We don’t get dirty and have really strong puck pursuit. They do. Our F’s on the PK just stand around waving sticks. We don’t get in passing lanes and pressure. They do.

    5. Problem with the PP is multiple. Need to have speed entering the zone. Have to get more than one forechecker and the other 2 guys just watching. Have to move the puck quick. Have to have a guy in front of the net AT ALL TIMES. The one time they circled it down low to Krecji, Seidenberg went to the net and he sent out a pass to Kaberle who hit the post. You have to have that kind of movement with Chara in Kaberle’s spot. Here’s what I think PP should look like :

    Krecji-Horton-Lucic-Chara-Boychuk
    Recchi-Seguin-Ryder/Marchand-Kaberle-Seidenberg

I know Seguin would be the center, but you can’t have Peverley out there. I think having 2 bombers like Chara & Boychuk would create more opportunities. Having said that, you have to HIT THE FUCKING NET!!

    As for lines :

    Lucic-Krecji-Horton
    Marchand-Peverley-Seguin
    Ryder-Kelly-Recchi
    Paille-Campbell-Thornton

Kelly is a OK 2 way center, but his offensive capabilities are limited. By having him on the 2nd line, you take away the offensive capabilities and then you really only have Krecji’s line generating offense. Peverley is not that much better, but has more offensive upside.

In Game 2, we HAVE to score the 1st goal. If they do, they’ll sit back in the 1-3-1. We have to get guys in front and we have to get shots on net. We have to be quick in transition. I don’t see this being another Montreal series if we lose game 2. If we do, this series could be over quick…

  28. Gcole says:

dam no one on here is talking about the lucic and horton sucker punches?? i left to go out right before that shit happened. was there something that made them two deserve to get punched like that? id be surprised if they dont get suspended for that. i just saw it on youtube, what fucking knuckleheads to do that

  29. Birdman2403 says:

Like many have said….why not play Seguin ?? I don’t get it. The PP is 2-569 and Seguin doesn’t see a second on the PP ????? HELLO……

  30. willisss says:

Turn overs killed them…this will be like the habs series. They’ll snap out of it

  31. Bruins says:

    Let’s play “Guess the Player”:

    – The PP is 9/107 since he got here
    – He’s playing bottom-pairing D minutes, but the most PP minutes
    – His turnover/takeaway ratio is over 4
    – He’s “hit” 9 people in 36 games, 0 in the playoffs
    – He potted the 6th goal in a 7-0 blowout a couple months ago, which probably makes his shooting percentage 100%
    – He sucks

  32. Gcole says:

My turn at guess the player.
    -he makes $4 million/yr
-he seems to always get icetime though he never does anything
-he had one good game against Mtl and everyone loved him
-he hasn’t done jack shot since that game
-he reminds me of kovalev because he plays like 5 games a year, and maybe one or two in the playoffs

    • pearson says:

      i aint worried.

seguin is gonna make an impact and lucic is gonna get the ball rolling

      • Gcole says:

seguin needs more than 7 minutes a game to make an impact. youd think claude would see he was doing good out there and skating hard, even throwing checks and give the kid more dam ice time!

  33. backbruin says:

Any word on bergy..is there a chance he play’s tomorrow?

  34. ELWOPPO says:

He was doing drills on the powerplay today with Seguin! Thiers a slim chance he may play tomorrow! But game 3 is probably what were looking at!

  35. #4: Marshmont Game WINNAH! says:

So Recchi lead forwards for TOI and Seguin was dead last???

Thats a coaching error. No sugar coating that even CJ admitted it by his comment of “no comment”. Its OK though I took away a few positives from that game.

    1) Seguin looked like a world beater on that goal. He also looked unstoppable a few times skating up ice.

    2) CJ will rebound and make the necessary changes just like in the MTL series. TB pulled a fast one by flip flopping the system on CJ. That wont happen again. Despite his controversial handling of Seguin he is a GOOD X and O’s coach.

    3) Thomas will have a bounceback game, this guy doesnt put up 2 stinkers in a row. I expect him to outplay Rolo from here on.

    Go B’s.

    • #4: Marshmont Game WINNAH! says:

#4) Manchuck and Crew’s physical domination TB cannot take that kind of punishment for an entire series. These punishing hits will result in some gamechanging situations.

    • Bruins says:

CJ doesn’t make adjustments. That’s his biggest problem. Always has been, always will be. Seguin will be sitting once Bergeron comes back no how well he plays. Frustrating as hell.

And I thought Thomas played very well. You can only fault him on the second goal, and not even fully. Made some amazing saves as well.

  36. Andy says:

Gentlemen, straight from Joey Mac & Jimmy Murphy @ ESPN Boston :

    Source: Game 3 for Bergeron?

    May, 16, 2011 May 16 2:43PM
    By Joe McDonald
The Bruins have not ruled out Patrice Bergeron for Tuesday’s Game 2, according to a league source, who acknowledged that Thursday’s Game 3 remains the more likely possibility for the assistant captain’s return from a mild concussion.

“Literally day to day right now,” said the source.

Bergeron skated with the team today and participated in practice for the first time since sustaining the concussion on May 6 in Game 4 of the Eastern conference semifinal series against the Flyers.

  37. Andy says:

More from an article, also on ESPNBoston.com :

When pressed further and asked if he’s ruling Bergeron out for Game 2 on Tuesday, Julien said: “No comments.”

According to a league source, though, the Bruins have not ruled out Bergeron for Tuesday’s Game 2, but it will depend on how he feels on game day.

Bergeron spent more than an hour on the ice Monday morning. He skated for 30 minutes on his own with the team’s strength and conditioning coach John Whitesides — working on stops and starts, passing and shooting drills before joining the team’s early work on special teams. Once Julien blew the whistle to begin the full practice, Bergeron remained on the ice for another 26 minutes before exiting. He also participated in light contact drills.

  38. Andy says:

    My opinion :

I think they take the cautious approach, given that this is his 3rd concussion (and even though we all want to see him out there, his life & overall well-being are priority #1). I think they hold him out of game 2 and he’s good to go for game 3.

This makes it VITALLY important to win tomorrow night. If you are 1-1 and getting Bergy back, that can change the entire complexion of the series…

  39. Haus says:

I agree with #4 on all points, great post! Andy, thanks for the input!

  40. Andy says:

No bridge, but as I said, I wouldn’t expect the same results as the MTL series. Not saying all is lost, but we had 3 out of 4 wins in OT in that series. Could’ve gone either way. I wouldn’t expect that if we go down 0-2 again…

    • ELWOPPO says:

I think its safe to say if we lose 2nite were cooked! Dont see us rallying from 2-0 down AGAIN againts this great defensive Tampa team! Do or Die 2nite in my opinion!

  41. backbruin says:

wow what’s with the negativity some of you are posting. Let’s stay positive for tonights game and worry about the rest of the series later….fk it’s like some of you are trying to make excuses already!!!! come on boys let’s go

  42. Studlycodfish says:

Wow lose one game and everyone is so negative back to complaining about coach again, listen guys the kid is just that a kid, so all you guys want him to get like 20 mins of ice time his first play off game in the east final at that lol glad cj is the coach and not you guys. He played well yes and I am a big fan but I wasn’t all good see his bad turn over when he was going for the change? Got to have faith guys Bruins will win book it!! Go Bruins Go!!!

    • Bruins says:

There’s a big difference between 9 minutes and 20 minutes. The biggest issue I have is that between his goal in the first and the third period he had two shifts and had no PP time on one of the worst PPs in history. That’s just retarded coaching.

      • moast says:

Not only that, Julien goes on to say that the PP is getting better….who the fuck is he kidding! It sucks ultimate balls and he still rolls without Seguin. Julien is one stubborn bastard and it will cost him in the end.

      • Bruins says:

Ya we scored what, a 5 on 3 goal in the last minute of play in a blowout game and all of a sudden the PP is “clicking”. Clode does not make adjustments.

  43. ELWOPPO says:

Not being negative, just stating the obvious! If they lose tonight thier cooked! Plain and simple! I dont see them rallying from 0-2 down AGAIN! I hope they smash 2nite though! 1-1 would be a totally different series with Bergy comming back like someone stated above?!?!

  44. Vince_M says:

Let’s get the party started and drop the puck! Good feeling on tonight. The boys will come back with something to prove and prove it they will.

One question. If Bergy comes back tonight (or when he comes back) who sits?

  45. Studlycodfish says:

The Kid, and I might be the only one but I also don’t think it would be over if they did go down two but I don’t think they will, going to have a fire under their asses tonite!!

  46. backbruin says:

Not sure what this means but:

Patrice Bergeron (concussion) reportedly returned to the ice to skate with the extras Tuesday afternoon. That probably means that he won’t play in Game 2 on Tuesday, but nothing has been confirmed. Coach Claude Julien hasn’t ruled Bergeron out yet and he said that Bergeron will probably play if he participates in the pre-game warm-ups. We’ll keep you posted. May 17, 1:49 PM

  47. backbruin says:

stay tuned…..if anyone digs anything up post it quickly

  48. backbruin says:

the score network has him as (doubtful)….i hope their playing games! that being the coaching staff!

  49. backbruin says:

quoting CL “If you see him in the warmup tonight he’s probably in” end quote!

    cmon bergy be 100%

  50. moast says:

Bergeron won’t be back tonight, next game, too soon.
Seguin will be on fire tonight with another goal.
Timmy and the rest of the team will step up after Neely calls them out.
Kaberle continues to suck shit and will be replaced with Kampfer sooner than later.
Savvy is in the building tonight so i think the emotional boost will help.
    Bruins 4-2
    GOOOOO B’SSSSS!!!!!

    • backbruin says:

is that your opinion or did you hear it!!

      • backbruin says:

and not sure what you meant by “next game, too soon”

do you mean he’s for sure not back tonight and he’s back next game??? and that’s too soon??

sorry for the confusion but it’s hard to tell if that’s all your opinion or just half or just a third??

      • moast says:

Dude, that is what I am hearing as he practiced with the black aces today and has no conact in practice. I would be surprised to see him tonight. No need to rush him as his health is the biggest importance, not game 2. If this team cannot beat Tampa without Bergeron then they may as well throw in the towel.
I meant next game for bergeron as it is too soon for him to be rushed back and then have him turn into the next savvy, no thanks.

  51. Gcole says:

God dammit the games at 8? I thought it was 7! FUCK!

  52. backbruin says:

    not playing!!!

  53. G-Rant says:

LETS GO BRUUUINS!!!!! Come out hard boys, LETS GO!!

  54. backbruin says:

let’s fkn go boys wow i’m jacked wooooooooooooooo…..positive all the way through…let’s go!!!

  55. North B says:

    Seriously.. 8 seconds..

  56. Gcole says:

SOMEONE HAS TO SHOOT THE FUCKING PUCK IN ORDER TO GET A GOAL! god dammit man, this isn’t keep away!!!

  57. backbruin says:

hard to be worried when we carry the play and they score on deflected bounces off boards straight on a stick off our goalie from the goaline….i know i know these goals are shit but my god we should roll over these guys and i still think we will!!

    • Gcole says:

Hard to be worried? Im worried! They suck major powerplay balls, and no one shoots the fucking puck

  58. Gcole says:

Where’s seguin on the pp???? The first one he got his shift with 4 seconds left, WTF

  59. Haus says:

Unreal. Dominate play all period and still down 2-1. So… Chara takes a stupid penalty for using the back of his head to hit Downie in the fist. If he was 6’3″ and Canadian that call is Downie only.

  60. Bruins says:

You can’t dominate a period any more than that. Just a case of terrible luck.

    • Gcole says:

Exactly why I’m worried, they won’t dominate every period from here on, and if they’re still losing while dominating, when things turn around how are they going to win?

      • Bruins says:

Tampa won’t be this luck either (I can only hope).

Absolutely no respect for this franchise. Tank to get your pick and rely on luck.

  61. ELWOPPO says:

Can someone tell me how many times the Bruins allowed the first goal in the first minute of these playoffs? Think about it?

  62. backbruin says:

they have 5 goals they shouldn’t…really…honestly this is some voodoo shit….dominated that period…cmon timmy!!!??

  63. backbruin says:

OMG SEGUIN….UMM COUGH COUGH HE STAYS…BEAUTIFUL!!

  64. Gcole says:

WELL LOOK AT THAT, sequins fast and can fucking score, use him on the geriatric powerplay!

  65. backbruin says:

UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM….SEGUIN…AH FKN RIGHT!!!SNIPE HE STAYS AND PLAYS GREAT SAVE TIMMY STARTED IT WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  66. Gcole says:

YEAH SEGUIN FUCK THEIR SHIT UP! go for tr ovechtrick

  67. North B says:

    THE KID IS ON FIRE!!!

  68. Gcole says:

So who still thinks we should sit seguin in favor of Thornton because of the toughness and leadership he brings?

  69. backbruin says:

OK TIMMY TIME TO START STOPPING THE ONE’S YOU SHOULD!!!

  70. backbruin says:

HEY RYDER THANK SEGUIN FOR EXTENDING YOUR CAREER….WOW WE HAVE A LOT OF GOOD MEMORIES COMING BOYS!!!!! SEGUIN IS PLAYING LIKE A FKN STUD!!!WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  71. Pen says:

The fucking kid is golden, who the fuck cares if he makes some defensive lapses when he is a goddamn magician with the puck!!! goooooooo B’ssssss!

  72. Pen says:

Two balls and more points in the playoffs than who?….Kessel that’s right!!!

  73. Gcole says:

Holy seguin! He’s gotta get a hatty tonight, only seems right

  74. FrenchFrog says:

Thank you Bryan Burke….Really Thank you. You’re the best!
Very happy for Seguin, he deserves it. Go B’s!!!

  75. ELWOPPO says:

Thiers a new sheriff in town boys,
And his name is TYLER SEGUIN!

  76. North B says:

    Keep fucking with Roloson..

  77. Studlycodfish says:

Whooooooooo Go Bruins Go!!!! And yes Thornton should be the odd man out when Patrice is ready!!! Whooo Go Bruins Go!!!

  78. lucic crew says:

Seguin is a beast, just think this would of never happened if bergy didn’t go down Its like it was fate. Seguin playing like this and bergy coming back fuck yeah. GOOOOOOOOOOOOO BSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Pen says:

Who do we sit? I say Rask! I bet if need be Seguin could put on the Goalie Pads and post a shut out!

  79. Gcole says:

Don’t start taking stupid fucking penalties again come on

  80. ELWOPPO says:

My nerves are officially shot! Wow!
lucic u almost cost us the game! U gotta put that in brother!

  81. lucic crew says:

Good game boston but you got to be better then that in the defence department. Seguin good for you buddy. GOOOOOOOOOOOOO BSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  82. ELWOPPO says:

Where the hell is everyone? Nobodys got nothing to say?
    Wow?

    • Jefe77 says:

Just now catching my breathe….holy crap…what a heart stopper.

I think it seems obvious they need to sit Thornton at this point. We have enough toughness for Tampa, and at this point you can’t bench anyone else.

  83. Andy says:

Holy fucking shit! What an up-and-down emotional rollercoaster that was!

We dominated the 1st, they got 2 bounces and they were up. Seguin and the boys explode in the 2nd and then I almost had a fucking heart attack in the 3rd. Somehow, I knew the game wasn’t going to be a lopsided final.

Bottom line, we got the win. We won without Bergy and it looks like a star is born in Seguin. What speed and magic by the kid. It’s like he became a seasoned veteran in 72 hrs!

Obviously, didn’t like the 3rd and hanging on and we have to get better defenisvely. However, we had a great 1st and finally scored multiple PP goals. I will say this about the PP. They finally moved the puck like they should, didn’t just automatically 1-time the puck, and got guys in front of Roloson..

Take a deep breath, boys. Best of 5!

  84. Andy says:

    From ESPN Boston :

Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron did not return to the lineup for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday.

According to a team source, however, the Bruins expect him to be ready for Game 3 on Thursday in Tampa

If that’s the case, here’s my lineup (Thornton out b/c we really don’t need an “enforcer”, and Paille kills penalties)

    Lucic-Krecji-Horton
    Marchand-Bergeron-Seguin
    Ryder-Peverley-Recchi
    Paille-Campbell-Kelly

  85. Andy says:

    Did anyone see this?

In an interview with Fox 13 Tampa last week, NHL hall of famer Phil Esposito — a member of the Bruins’ 1972 and 1970 Stanley Cup championship teams whose jersey hangs from the rafters at TD Garden — said he “could give one damn about Boston.”

“I don’t care about Boston,” Esposito told the local Fox affiliate. “Tampa Bay is my home. The Lightning are like my child. I gave birth to it. It took everything I had physically and probably mentally.”

“I hope we smoke ’em to tell you the truth,” Esposito said.

Hey Phil, FUCK YOU!! Did you give a damn about Boston when Ray took his jersey off for you, you geriatric fuck?!

  86. Seguin>Hall says:

Oh wow!!! I’m callin that son of a bitch tomorrow on NHL Radio..

  87. Seguin>Hall says:

Oh, and by the way, what’d I tell u all about TYLER F-IN SEGUIN…

  88. Studlycodfish says:

The Kid with the Highlight of the nite on TSN!!!! Just reading that about Phil makes me feel like I just got stabbed in the heart, fuck u Phil!!! Go Bruins Go!!!! Whoooooooo!!!

  89. #4 says:

O man, its always the sign of a good game when I wake up still drunk but manage to drag myself to work.

If they lost I probably would’ve stayed home hah.

    Oh and Seguin WOOOOOOH

  90. Haus says:

    Couple of things:
    – I thought Kaberle had a strong game last night on both ends. Didn’t look like he was pressing and he set the table well on the PP.
    – I agree with those of you who say Thornton should sit in the event of Bergerons’ return. But what about this: move Peverley to the 4th line with Campbell and Paille. There you’ve got speed and increased defensive accountability, plus a touch of creativity. Pevs seems like a guy without a line after seeing the chemistry between Ryder and the kid.
    – I’ll cut Esposito some slack. TB is in the NHL because of him; the franchise truly is his baby. Some things are said when competition gets hot. Do I really think he doesn’t care about Boston? Nah, of course he does. Just not right now, and I’m ok and understand that.
    – Boychuk looked really bad last night. I expect a bounce-back game from him Thursday.

  91. Andy says:

Not a huge fan of Fluto, but he was the 1st to say it :

    GlobeFluto Fluto Shinzawa
Patrice Bergeron is traveling to Tampa this morning

    However, Dupont says :

    @GlobeKPD
    Kevin Paul Dupont
As reported here Mon. eve, no Bergeron Game 2. Current status: 50-50 for Game 3; 75 percent for Game 4; 99 percent for Game 5.

I tend to believe the 4-5 other people who have said he’s all but in for game 3. At the same time, though, I understand why they don’t rush him. Would you rather have him back for this series or another 5-6 years? If push came to shove, I’d take the 5-6 yrs, even if it meant a Cup…Bergy’s LIFE is #1..

  92. Bruins says:

Seguin shouldn’t be this good yet. Bench him until he stops scoring.

  93. Bruins says:

I agree on Kaberle. He actually looked great last night. Best d-man along with Ference. The other 4 were brutal.

    • Andy says:

I was amazed at the jump and life that Kaberle had last night. He seemed like a man on a mission in taking the puck and moving it up the ice.

Where the fuck was this for the past 30 games?!

  94. Bruins says:

Espo, wtf??? Bobby Orr must have set up that interview for him as we all know he can’t do anything without him.

  95. Bruins says:

So I heard on Sports radio that there have only been 14 payers in history to get 4 points in a period in the playoffs. Includes some names like Gretzky, Lemieux, Richard. And he was the only teenager to do it. Not bad for a healthy scratch.

  96. Bruins says:

Players who put up 6 or more points in their first 2 playoff games:

    Newsy Lalonde (1918)
    Tyler Seguin (2011)

    • Andy says:

As amazing as that is, his point total isn’t even the most in B’s history – Barry Pedersen had 7 pts in his 1st 2 playoff gms in ’82!

  97. Bergy37 says:

Hopefully Bergy is healthy for game 3, but honestly I’m worried about him. If he gets one more concussion, it could be Savard all over again. Though my guess is he’s been symptom free pretty much since he was diagnosed, if that makes sense. I believe it was the absolute mildest concussion a guy could get, or we wouldn’t even be thinking about him coming back. But if and when he does, I’d go with Thornton as the scratch, because like a few have mentioned, we don’t need an enforcer in the playoffs, and Paille is a pretty good penalty killer. These lines look good:

    Lucic-Krejci-Horton
    Marchand-Bergeron-Recchi
    Ryder-Kelly-Seguin
    Paille-Campbell-Peverley

It doesn’t seem right to put Peverley on the fourth line, but Kelly seemed to work better than Peverley with Seguin and Ryder. I’d also consider putting Seguin with Bergy and Marchand, swapping with Recchi, and then swap Peverley and Kelly, if I were Julien.

  98. Andy says:

    Here it is :

    Patrice Bergeron close to returning

    By Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff

“TAMPA — Patrice Bergeron will participate in tomorrow’s morning skate at St. Pete Times Forum. Depending on how Bergeron feels after the skate, the Bruins will determine whether he will play in Game 3.
According to Claude Julien, Bergeron took contact yesterday at TD Garden. Julien made no mention of any setbacks. So while nothing is certain with concussions, it’s a good bet that Bergeron will be good to go tomorrow night.

“Tomorrow morning, he’s going to be on the ice,” Julien said. “I have a feeling that at that point, there’s going to be discussions on whether he’s ready to go or not. I can’t tell you right now whether he’s in or not. That’s being honest. He’s certainly inching closer to making a return as long as there’s no setbacks.”

Julien noted that Bergeron’s conditioning is in good shape. Bergeron didn’t skate today. He skated the four previous days.

“He feels his conditioning is right on,” Julien said. “In skating practices, he doesn’t feel winded or anything like that.”

Julien confirmed that regardless of Bergeron’s availability, Tyler Seguin will make his third straight appearance tomorrow. If both forwards are available, the guess is that Shawn Thornton will be the healthy scratch. Julien said he liked how the third line of Seguin, Michael Ryder, and Chris Kelly performed last night, so that line will most likely remain intact.”

It seems that Peverley is on 4th line, which is strange, because I think Peverley is better than Kelly, but maybe they see how it works tomorrow and if it doesn’t go as well, he switches it up.

I wonder, if he does play, what kind of immediate impact he will have. I tend to think it will have a big one, on the entire team…

    • Bergy37 says:

Peverley is probably better than Kelly, but if you’ve got chemistry going, you gotta stick with it.

  99. CCMGoalie says:

Hey guys, I’ve been eagerly awaiting this series with Tampa since we swept the Flyers and here’s where I’m at with it after 2 games. (P.S. I didn’t fall off the bandwagon, my laptop died and I’ve been using a desktop that’s older than my grandfather’s balls. AKA doesn’t exactly run what I need to get on here.)

    1) Seguin: Deserves to be on the ice for sure now. I think when Bergeron comes back the guy you have to take out of the lineup is Thornton because he just doesn’t bring enough offensively and the only guy on Tampa we need to worry about is Downie. And that little fucker will do some retarded shit, but he’s generally fairly harmless.

    2) Seguin-Bergeron-Marchand on the PP with Chara and Seidenberg holding the blueline will be dominant once Bergy gets his head back on straight.

    3) Thomas has looked a little shaky in the first 3 mins of almost every game this post season. He’s stopping most of the ones he’s supposed to and some of the one’s he has no business touching. EXACTLY what Cup Contenders need. Let him ride. He’ll work himself back to form.

    4) Ryder needs to kick it into high gear again.

    5) Kaberle: Please go sign somewhere else after this season. Your PP efforts are embarassing. You’re like a squirt who doesn’t want to make a mistake so he passes off to people who aren’t open instead of taking the shot. Please go away.

    6) With Kaberle (hopefully) not being resigned PC needs to start looking to solid Puck-Moving Defensemen who don’t suck a cock on the PP. Kampfer is good and will be better, but we need another LEGITMATE Top 2 defenseman.

    7) Neely8: I hope you enjoy eating your words about what the Bruins have done and will do in these playoffs. So much for choking against the Habs, so much for getting beat by the Flyers…again, and this series is going to get really intense now that it’s knotted back up. I can’t wait to hear how you think the Bruins are going to fuck this up and end up like Edmonton next season.

    8) Go B’s

    • CCMGoalie says:

That smiley face is not intentional. It’s supposed to be an 8 with a ) following it. Not cool wordpress. Not cool.

  100. Bergy37 says:

Hey, what do you all think of Chiarelli going out and getting a top free agent… like one of Zach Parise or Shea Weber. I know, they’re both RFA, and will costs picks, but it could be worth it. Weber brings size, skill, a blazing shot, and logs big time minutes, on top of being a great leader. He’d require a big cap hit, probably $7M per season. But I think he’d be worth it. Incredible defenseman. Not sure if Nashville will part with him though. He loves it there, and they’ll probably find a way to keep him. But Kevin Dupont is for a deal to get Weber, so it would have to be a good thing. I’d love for Chiarelli to at least try. Chara and Weber paired together?whoa, watch out, opposition!

And if we can’t get him, Parise would be great. Again, would cost picks. But he’s a legit 35-45 goal scorer, and would be outstanding to have. I know he missed most of this season, but I believe he’ll come back strong. It would probably take 5 yrs, $27.5M or more, but again, a great player. He would give them a guy who would actually put fear into the opponent.

So it’s probably just a pipe dream, but I would absolutely love to get one of these guys. We have Kaberle, Ryder and Recchi all coming off the books. Obviously Marchand’s salary will go up a bit, and Bergy’s goes up a tad, but Chara’s goes down a bit. So what do you guys think? Good, bad, or just plain not going to happen?

    • Gcole says:

Dude I think they’d be lucky to keep everyone they already have much less get a top free agent

      • Haus says:

        How do you figure?

      • Bergy37 says:

What exactly do you mean? The only free agent they need to keep is Marchand (he’s a RFA). Ryder, Kaberle and Recchi don’t need to be re signed. Recchi’s retiring, you know he has to be, he can’t keep up any longer. Neither Ryder or Kaberle are worth keeping. So there is plenty of money left to sign a top free agent.

    • Birdman2403 says:

      Parise would be unreal !

  101. Gcole says:

How about a new post already, going on three games without a new one! Slackers..

    • Haus says:

If I can find a better site I’m out of here after the season this is ridiculous. All you do is start a new topic: ECF Game 3. You don’t even have to write anything.

  102. Seguin>Hall says:

Let’s take a vote… Which is more likely, my boy Tyler Seguin to have a Hart trophy in the next 5 yrs, or a Con Smyth in the next 5 weeks?

  103. ELWOPPO says:

Bergeron probable 2nite! Lucic was seen walking with a limp today after talking a Seguin shot of the foot on practice! As per Boston Globe!

  104. Whopperfoo says:

Boston.com reporting bergeron likely to play tonight!

  105. willisss says:

Reports that krejci is out per sports hub???????what the fuck?? Anyone know about this???

  106. Andy says:

Well, Bergy’s back in, according to multiple sources.

It’ll be interesting to see how he responds tonight. Gunshy? All out? I think that it’s probably going to take him a period or so to get it back.

    Great news, though!

    • backbruin says:

it won’t take him long at all…..this is the conference final guys….it’s been 20 years…he’s chomping at the bit to get back in there!!!!

      wouldn’t you!!

  107. backbruin says:

ok priming up for the game tonight….feeling good about it right now…kind of a relaxed excitement which is weird but maybe you could call it confidence….we set the tempo and barring more of tampa’s bullshit bounces early we shouyld be o.k….can we please score first tonight??

hey can anyone with patience go back and look at the amount of times we’ve scored first in the 13 games we’ve played in this years playoffs…..we have to be on the losing side of the first goal stats!!!

    thanks and let’s go b’sss

  108. G-Rant says:

    LETS GO B’S!!!!

  109. backbruin says:

    lines tonight imo:

    lucic..krejci..horton
    marchand..bergy..recchi
    ryder..kelly..seguin
    peverley..campbell..paille/thornton

    think thorts is out though

  110. ELWOPPO says:

Krejci got smoked! Didnt come on for a shift after hit! WTF, Is this really happining?

  111. Chibruin says:

What’s the count on our number of offsides while on the pp. So frustrating

  112. Gcole says:

My Asian friend is over tonight and obviously she doesn’t watch hockey, she just asked me “so if the bruins win tonight does that mean they win the.. Whats it called.. Stanley cup?” …what the hell do you say to that I was speechless

  113. Studlycodfish says:

That was our best game of the play-offs, Whoooooooo Go Bruins Go!!!!!

  114. Vince_M says:

    Let’s Goooo Bsss!!!

    Great game!!

    Timmy, Bergy, Chara

    Fuckin A!!

  115. lucic crew says:

    FUCEN RIGHT GOOOOOOOOOOOOO BSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  116. lucic crew says:

Sorry boys just got off work, fucken right.

  117. Haus says:

Give a lot of credit to Julien and the coaching staff. When TB went into the 1-3-1 it seemed like the Bruins made easy access into the zone (Ference goal scored when TB in that structure during entry). Also, there was concern about all the high quality scoring opportunities being conceded, so they ratcheted up the team defense and gave the D more support down low and bam! A fucking shutout. If the Julien haters are gonna rip him, its only fair to give credit when things work, especially the adjustments made tonight.

  118. Haus says:

Another observation: If Lucic doesn’t punch Hedman in the mouth late in game 1, he stays with Krecji and doesn’t go seek out Lucic in the corner to try and give some payback. That was a huge mistake because then Krecji is all alone in front.

  119. Richardo says:

    OLD TIME HOCKEY!!!

  120. Haus says:

Hey? Where are all those fraudulant faggots like Bruins1 and Neely8 now? Oh yeah, they quit on this team months ago.

  121. goosegoose says:

6 more wins….its so dam close yet so far away.

  122. Bruins says:

Fuckin matinees… Oh well, we’ll still win in 5, in Boston.

  123. Bruins says:

Bergeron was very Bergeron-like last night.

  124. Caperfan says:

that was an awesome complete game win for the Bruins last night. One of the best games I have seen them play in years. “Way to go boys”

  125. Gcole says:

How about a new post already? God dam lazy bums

  126. lucic crew says:

Lets get a win today boys. GOOOOOOOOOOOOO BSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  127. dookie says:

Time for Marchand today boys. He’s been pretty quite so far in this series. Game winner today!!

  128. bruins4eva says:

LETS FUCKING GOOOOO BOYS!!! this is our time…grasp it by the horns and FUCKING ROLL WITH IT

  129. ELWOPPO says:

    Lets go B’ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss !!!

  130. backbruin says:

    let’s do this boys…..grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  131. Gcole says:

What’s that scar on bouchers face? Pretty badass

  132. Gcole says:

    YEAH BITCHES 3-0!

  133. North B says:

    Bye bye Roloson..

  134. lucic crew says:

BSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Good call Elwoppo i put on my Seguin jersey and said take it off and put on your bergy jersey. So good one, what a beast bergy is GOOOOOOOOOOOOO BSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  135. dookie says:

Now is te time to play smart & disciplined. The bolts are rattled. Don’t sit on it – go for the jugular and ram it it up their ass!!

  136. dookie says:

B’s on the pp to start the 2nd. Peverley & MA Bergeron 5 mins each and downie gets 2 for roughing and a 10 min misconduct. Time to turn this pp around.

  137. backbruin says:

keep your foot on the gas boys….give them 0 hope…and i’d like to give props to paille for 2 key blocked shots…..he doesn’t get too much press but i think he’s playing his role perfectly!!!

    good job boys!!!

    let’s finish them this period!!!

  138. Gcole says:

    Powerplay still sucks balls

  139. Gcole says:

Seriously cant figure out how it makes ANY sense at all for a team to be worse 5v4 than 5v5… Defies logic

  140. Gcole says:

Up 3-0 with everything going your way and get back to back powerplays and look absolutely terrible on both, then allow two goals real quick and as in typing this Marchand takes a stupid penalty and puts them on the powerplay!! WTF?!

  141. ward says:

hey kabrle take a hit u pussy

  142. North B says:

    FUCK, Start skating boys..

  143. lucic crew says:

That was fun, thomas come on man. GOOOOOOOOOOOOO BSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  144. zamer says:

Thomas fucked the 2nd with the puck behind the net,and julien not calling a time out after the 2nd goal and settling the guys down.

  145. ELWOPPO says:

Were u guys thinking the same thing when Tampa made it 3-1!
Of course u were! Thats why im not surprised at all its 3-3! Were the best team in the NHL at blowing 3 goal leads! And every team knows it!
What a fucking joke! They better win this bloody game! Thats all im gonna say!

  146. willisss says:

This has to be what Camping was talking about

  147. Gcole says:

Well good job assholes you blew a 3 goal lead and are behind now

  148. zamer says:

This is just my fustration, tampa deserves to win when your leading 3-0 and then give up 4 goals your fucked for the rest of the sereis, there goes your confidence to shit. The bruins just gave up after that fucken stupid 1st goal what a meltdown.

  149. Bruins says:

The second and third period is the worst I have ever seen the Bruins play in my life. They weren’t generating anything. How they managed that after that first is unreal.

  150. Haus says:

4 poor turnovers by a team that appeared to lose their skating legs today. They better re-charge in time for monday.

  151. Caperfan says:

Key part of this game was the back to back power plays inthe second period nad the B’s had a 3-0 lead and did fuck all o nthe power play again. If they score one more the game is over. No of course not! they float around looking fucking horrible and Tim Thomas loses his composure and series tied. I hope this is not a tide changer and the game that changes the series?.
However, the Bruins are good at bouncing back after bad efforts and I hope they can do it again.

  152. lucic crew says:

Wow oh well back to beantown, the bs will prevail GOOOOOOOOOOOOO BSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  153. Birdman2403 says:

Fucking joke…plain and simple. Thomas was brutal and scratch Kaberle for Kampfer. End of story.

Yeah Thomas has been great, sucked today and cost the game. This series was 3-1 and over. Now…..????

  154. chicksonthebeach says:

In apollo 13 the phrase was ‘ we just lost the moon’. Well boys, I don’t mean to rain on your parade, but that was the turning point of the series. The B’s just the cup and it was secuely within their grasp. Another summer of frustration!!

    • Bergy37 says:

The Bruins just lost the Cup? They lost game 4 in the eastern conference finals, you idiot. Not the Cup. They’ll still beat Tampa and win the cup. It wasn’t “securely in their grasp”, and sen if it was, it wouldt go from being secure to gone because their series is now tied. I hate people who give up on a team when they’re still alive and well.

      • lucic crew says:

Well said you babies need to shut the fuck up. We all knew this was going to be a motherfucker of a series, well some of us anyway. They are going back to beantown, and you know what probably back to beantown for game 7. In the end the bs will prevail keep the faith. GOOOOOOOOOOOOO BSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Bruins says:

Cool, see you during the Cup parade in Boston.

  155. chicksonthebeach says:

    * just lost

  156. moast says:

    Seguin Bergeron Ryder
    Horton Krejci Marchand
    Recchi Kelly Peverley
    Paille Campbell Lucic

B’s will prevail but I think a change is in order.

    • moast says:

Kampfer should be in for Kaberle as well

    • Bruins says:

What’s with the overly drastic shake-up? We’re 2-2 in the ECF.

      • Haus says:

I agree. You don’t change all 4 lines at this point and expect everybody to instantly gel.

      • moast says:

        Just a thought as:
L1: Bergeron can play with anyone and with the chemistry of Seguin and Ryder, it would be a potent 1st line IMO.
L2: Give top line a kick in the ass to pla harder and stops from slowing them down with Lucic
L3: As defensive and offensive as you need from a third line
L4: Always a good line, better with Lucic and will get him going if he is not injured, if he is injured, he only needs 4th line minutes.
Bench Kaberle and put in Kampfer….can only be better and is a yound PMD that will spark the dmen!
This would be nice to see IMO and if they dominate tonight, I will eat my words but Id feel confident rollng these lines.

  157. Seguin>Hall says:

We are 6 wins away and all of a sudden we all want to blow the team up??

Hockey is a momentum game, there are always ups and downs. The team shouldn’t panic, the coaches shouldn’t panic, and the fans shouldn’t panic.

  158. lucic crew says:

    GOOOOOOOOOOOOO BSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  159. Vince_M says:

Let’s get the party started and drop the puck and then watch the Bsss prevail!!

After tonight it will be 3-2 for the Bruins!!

    End of story.

Tomorrow I will be cheering that the Bruins are 1 win away from the finals and the Jets are landing again in the Peg!

    • moast says:

Fuck Ya Vince! Im super stoked to have the Jets back!! My NO2 Team!! They should make a trade for Teemu!!

  160. goosegoose says:

I wish I could say I am confident the Bruins will pull it out. But game 4 was so eerily similar to game 7 last year. I can see the bruins sucking tonight but I can also see them dominate as well. Either way Go Bruins lets get er done!

  161. Gcole says:

did the guys running this site die or something?

  162. Caperfan says:

The bruins will be good tonight, if they get the first goal they win easy!!!

  163. Bruins says:

Lol at the Bruins being as deep into the playoffs as they’ve been in 20 years and there only being a new post every 2 weeks.

    • Haus says:

Agree. Fucking sad. I would do it myself if I could. They wouldn’t even have to write a piece, just create a title and let us comment. This site is visitor-driven anyway.

    • Gcole says:

yea on the offseason there was something every god dam day about kovalchuk, but were in the conference finals, and game 5 is tonight and the last post was an injury update BEFORE the series even started!

  164. Haus says:

I think the only change we may or should see is Recchi and Peverley swapping lines.

  165. Gcole says:

You guys think it’s safe to say whoever wins this game will win the series? I think so

  166. G-Rant says:

    Lets GO BRUINS!!

  167. Gcole says:

Versus needs new commercials, im tired of the fucking caveman, that ugly bitch from progressive, and the retard on the credit score one

  168. Loooch says:

What the fuck is with these early goals?!

  169. Gcole says:

I think they like getting scored on in the first minute

  170. zamer says:

The big differece is tampa has better 3rd and 4th lines, and thomas looks shaky again.

  171. Gcole says:

What’s with the stupid fucking penalties they’re taking? Sequins was completely unnecessary, and hortons was boneheaded

    • G-Rant says:

Yup, asking to lose…so frustrating. Seguin is a kid and needs to learn but Horton? WTF DUDE. Score one will you?!

  172. Bruins says:

    Worst period ever.

  173. Gcole says:

Where’d all the motivation go from the 2-0 shutout???

  174. G-Rant says:

    That was NOT inspired hockey.

  175. zamer says:

Well I didnt see any fire in the bruins this period and its not going to happen, lets give tampa credit every one of there players are working hard,Game 4 fucked us up and thats life.

  176. Caperfan says:

Terrilbe effort for such an important game. Came on a bit in the end of the period but to many stupid penalites anf four shots n goal aint going to do it. Our best guy are not our bet guy again tonight!!! Better wake the fuckup or this will be over. I hate this teams effort and approch to many games, its seems they just dont get it or justno prepared. Is it coaching or leadership? fuck they can frustrate you!!!

  177. North B says:

4 shots, that is all they could do.. fuck me!

  178. Haus says:

The last 3 periods are the worst they’ve played this post-season. I’m not gonna quit like many of you but is there anything left in the tank?

The penalty on Seguin was a straight-up dive job. Horton got caught retaliating for being punched behind the play prior to the previous whistle.

  179. North B says:

Hey Claude, PUT SEGUIN ON THE FUCKING PP!

  180. Haus says:

You know if you really break it down the main problem with the power play is the forwards losing every battle.

    • Gcole says:

I think it’s them having the feeling of “oh great were on the powerplay we suck so nothing good is going to happen” because that’s how I feel. If anything they should just pretend they’re 5-5..

    • Jefe77 says:

They have simply been forcing too many plays from the point on the PP. Not enough low penetration, which is what Savvy was so good at doing; opening up space for down low plays.

  181. Haus says:

Bruins really have no business leading this game, but ill take it.

  182. lucic crew says:

My heart can’t take this. GOOOOOOOOOOOOO BSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  183. Gcole says:

    Holy STICK SAVE

  184. North B says:

    WOW, Timmy Thomas!!!

  185. lucic crew says:

    BSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  186. lucic crew says:

    THOMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  187. Bruins says:

    5 wins. Atta boy Thomas.

  188. G-Rant says:

    Wow timmy, THANK YOU

  189. lucic crew says:

Oh i get it 4000 people come when the bruins lose, when they win squeak squeak. GOOOOOOOOOOOOO BSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  190. ELWOPPO says:

Boychuk gone for playoffs? Didnt look good! Hope he comes back, Huuuuuge loss!

    • Haus says:

He came out off the bench to congratulate Timmy after the game. I know that doesn’t mean everything but its a good sign.

Well, you gotta steal a game once in awhile. Got alot of help from the refs and TB have lots of things to bitch about. Great heart shown by this team after a discouraging 1st period. And also, Chara was a force and the epitome of a captain tonight.

  192. Haus says:

To get back to the original topic: Will Gord Kluzak be ready to play wednesday?

  193. ELWOPPO says:

Just out of curiosity, How much money do we have to work with come next season? 6 mil available? Ryder and recchi right?

    • Bruins says:

Alot depends on whether Savard comes back. Without him our line-up probably is:

      Lucic-Krejci-Horton
      Marchand*-Bergeron-Caron
      Peverley-Seguin-UFA
      Campbell-Kelly-Thornton
      Paille

      Chara-Boychuk
      Seidenberg-Ference
      McQuaid-UFA
      Kampfer

      Thomas
      Rask

With Savard, forwards would probably look like:

      Lucic-Krejci-Horton
      Marchand*-Bergeron-Caron
      Peverley-Savard-Seguin
      Campbell-Kelly-Thornton
      Paille

I think the most likely is the first scenario. With the cap supposedly going up to $62.2 million, that gives us $14,651,667 to work with, and we’d only need to resign Marchand and find one UFA forward and maybe one UFA defenseman.

With Savard, we’d have $10,644,524 to sign Marchand and maybe another defenseman. And both of these assume you want Caron up.

Either way you look at it, we have a shitload of caproom to sign maybe even two impact players. Something like this would certainly be do-able:

      Lucic-Krejci-Horton
      Peverley-B.Richards-Seguin
      Marchand-Bergeron-Caron
      Campbell-Kelly-Thornton
      Paille

      Chara-Boychuk
      Seidenberg-Pitkanen
      Ference-McQuaid
      Kampfer

      Thomas
      Rask

Richards at $7 million, Marchand at $2.5 million and Pitkanen at $5 million. Maybe a minor change with Seguin’s bonuses.

      • Bruins says:

That being said I’d personally pass on Richards. Great player but the likely $7 million you’d have to spend probably isn’t worth it. Plus it might screw you up long-term. I really like our core.

I would definitely be going after Pitkanen though.

  194. Jefe77 says:

My nerves were through the roof by the time Peverley scored that EN.

I’m looking for a game similar to game 3 from the Bruins in game 6; control and patience. No more pond hockey! But that being said, Timmy sure looks as loose as a pond hockey goalie. Save of the year, no doubt!

  195. Beantown33 says:

    Any news on boychuk

    • Jefe77 says:

Claude said he was ‘fine’ after the game.

Ya neva know with head shots, so we’ll see but I’m almost to the point of wanting Hnidy in and Kabs out. Won’t happen, but I’m trying to get him to prove me wrong.

  196. ELWOPPO says:

Roloson will start game 6 as per NESN
    Thoughts?
